#1 WR

What game? The truth?

You know very well the argument wozzy was making. Now just arguing semantics. That juju is a #1 option. So our receivers are good enough.

That's like saying Brandon cooks was a #1 receiver for the Patriots. Ignoring Gronk and the coverage he takes

Kelce was the #1 receiver

I don’t know very well what you think someone else was arguing.
He was the #1 WR call him #2 on a sb champ if you want, big deal. The point is the guy is a proven capable NFL WR who has been a valuable target on good offenses and football teams. 10 can’t seem to figure out how other teams got him the ball though.
He could be freaking Jerry Rice if 10 can’t read the defense and throw on time, it doesn’t matter.

By the way I looked it up.

He literally said #1 WIDE RECEIVER.

What are you talking about?

I am assessing the performance of the team. The overriding problem is the QB. There really isn’t a question. And if you did question it how in the world did the same team play significantly better when the qb was out? With a mediocre at best qb replacing him?

You are so twisted up in your need to blame someone because your vicarious association isn’t going as well as you wish that you actually think that identifying the players who are the biggest problem is defending your token object of blame.

You seriously need to find a different hobby.

It's pretty obvious that the ones whining about BB are pretty much stupid spoiled brats
There’s another name for those brats: correct.

Come on! JuJu might have been the top WR last year for the Chiefs, but he wasn't a superstar. The guy had 933 yards and three TDs in 16 games and was god awful in the playoffs (89 total yards in three playoff games). And Mahomes is an elite QB who can elevate mediocre talent like Brady did.

And even though the Chiefs have a mediocre WR room, they chose not to sign JuJu even though he signed for really cheap money for a a "#1 wide receiver".

People before the season were debating whether JuJu was even an upgrade to Meyers who clearly isn't a #1 WR. He appeared to be a healthy scratch one game this year and another game where he didn't even play until late into the fourth quarter. Now we are going to argue that he is a very good to great receiving option and just held back by Mac Jones?

This isn't a defense of Mac Jones, but JuJu Smith-Schuster would have been a bust signing no matter who the Pats had at QB. As bad as Mac Jones has been, you can make the argument that JuJu has been worse.

This is why the Pats should consider trading down if they have a top 3 pick. Yes, Williams or Maye could end up being elite QBs (but people said the same thing about Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson), but the Pats might get back to being a contender much faster by turning a top three pick into three first round picks.

Trevor Lawrence makes this team better in a heartbeat.

A franchise QB covers up a lot of sore spots.
You don’t get to the top 3 every year gotta take the franchise QB.

He is still a significant disappointment compared to what he was expected to be. And I would rather have three first round draft picks than him (assuming we can trust whoever is drafting for the Patriots). Miami in that draft ended up with basically Hill, Waddle, and Chubb to trade away the #3 pick. The Jags could have gotten more than that. I would rather have Hill, Waddle, and Chubb than Lawrence at this point.

Who cares what Lawrence would have done for this team? The Pats had no chance of drafting him.

I think we are OK at RB, C, G, Safety, P and CB1....Sheesh thats not good
The front 7 has been good but needs to replace a few guys. K is fine.
Qb is the big thing. TEs are FAs. WRs will look much better with a QB who can get them the ball. Resign Onwenu and you have 4/5 of the OL.

I don't agree hes been a significant disappointment. Once the got Peterson hes been a top 10 QB and is ascending.

If there is a franchise QB available when the Pats pick they should pull the trigger. The problem is that the Pats will have a top 3 pick on a year when there are no sure fire NFL QB's. Pick the new Zack Wilson and we are going to have another 3 years of suck before starting again.

Agree on DL.

I think he has peaked at a top 10 QB, not a top 5 QB. He was arguably better last year than this year.

The Jags as a team is better than last year, but I don't know if Lawrence is. But who knows in the future if he can get elite receiving help.

Hes 24. Lots of room for improvement. Hes not in Mahomes's class but his performance thus far has been fine for a #1 pick.

I think for a first round pick he is fine. For #1 overall, he is a disappointment. But considering the 2021 QB class, he might get a much better grade on a curve.

Either way, my point stands. If you could have Lawrence or three first round picks with at least one of them being fairly high, I would rather have the three first rounders. With a Hill and Waddle to throw to, you could get an average QB and be very successful on offense.

Maybe if I was rooting for a team that was only a QB away, I would feel differently.
