Someone asked him about that play and if he was okay with the read by Mac. His answer was along the lines of "Well we were only down 3, we were just about in field goal territory, would've been nice to hold onto the ball there and not throw a pick... but... yeah it got tipped so it happens"

You could tell he was trying not to blame Mac, but he wasn't happy about it

Mac did things wrong today, but I was perfectly fine with that throw. He threw it low to a spot only JuJu could catch and it would have put them damn close to field goal range. 999999.999999% of the time the worst case scenario for a throw like that is an incomplete pass. It was just dumb luck it bounced out JuJu hands and into the defenders, but that type of dumb luck could happen on most throws.

If the receivers caught the balls that hit them in the hands, we win. Mac couldn't possibly be throwing it too hard, because "his arm is weak."

Firing the coach rebound is fleeting. We see it all the time. A team fires the head coach in season and the team magically plays like a contender. A few weeks later, they are back to sucking.

could not have said it better - and we all knew who the greatest coach was during the past 3 decades - it was parcells who not only was a better coach but he excelled in drafting and took a team from a laughing stock in 3 years to a contender

Just because Mac isn’t the only problem, he’s still not performing to expected levels. INTs (and easy drops that should’ve been INTs), as well as an overall underwhelming performance just lead me to believe that he isn’t going to win you games.

I think NE benefits from moving on and getting someone who can start anew. He’s not the only person in the building I’d move on from.

Yes, your right about that. Besides Josh's family is still in Massachusetts as Tom Curran mentioned. All signs just feels like he's coming back in some capacity.. they are going to keep Mac next season and allow him to walk in FA..

Really? 999999.999999% of the time a 15-20 air yard throw over the middle of the field (with multiple defenders in the area) to a very well covered receiver into a 2-inch window the worst case scenario is an incomplete pass?

I don’t blame Mac for the INT (though he’s extremely lucky he completed the previous 4th down “pass.”) However, throwing into man coverage, where the receiver has almost zero separation, has an inherent risk, which many (including the broadcasters) thought was a poor risk:reward decision given the clock, down, and distance.

Edelman would catch tougher diving catches than that on a near weekly basis. Gronk wasn't as much of a diving catch guy since he was so massive that he could easily catch over most defenders high.

But that catch was not an easy catch, but not an extremely tough catch either.
