@Ring 6 ,

Sorry man...this thread didn't age well. I really drank that Kool Aid tho....

I am actually surprised at how bad we have been the last 3 weeks. The first 3 weeks didn't surprise me as we usually start out slow and the competition was what we expected (except for week 3 without Rodgers). Yesterday was better than weeks 4 and 5...

But for some reason I have a weird nagging feeling that we might actually win out before our BYE week.... just because of how inexplicably we have played this season....

OK, maybe I am drinking the Kool Aid again.....9

That’s why they play the games. The thread was 100% on about the opportunity they had, they just didn’t take care of business.
I will still be there every week, hoping for the best.

How the thread is going....

Whaaaa whaaa whaaa…injuwwwwies.

You realize they are likely going to get two full wins because of the Rodgers injury right? You realize they were just given a (missed) layup against Brian Hoyer yesterday right? They also got a banged up Derek Carr.

This team ****ing sucks. I had them for 7 wins and I don’t see then getting there even with the Zach Wilson draw. The injuries don’t account for just how bad they are, not even close.

Let me guess: they’re also a few plays away from being 3-3.
I don’t even know if we beat the Jets again

Buffalo (h) and Miami (a) sandwiched in between 4 bad teams; NO, LV, Wash, Indy.

With winnable games with LA, Giants, jets, Pitt, Denver still to go, there is a lot of season left.

4 or 5 wins in those 6 games sets them up in decent shape to finish strong.
Its funny looking back at this that you called NO and LV bad teams and both beat the pats, one by 30...

I had them around 7-8 wins as well and we will be lucky to get 3-4 at this point. You're dead on about the other team's injuries. Zach Wilson, Brian Hoyer, an injured Carr, and there is a solid chance that Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones don't play in the next 6 weeks either. We're losing to bad offenses and good offenses. We're losing to bad defenses and good defenses. Now we're walking into a back to back buzzsaw inside the division against the Bills and Dolphins.

We are not bad due to injuries. The reality is, every team deals with them. We are bad because we are a bad football team. I didn’t think we were 1-5 bad, but we are just that bad. I for one do agree with Ring 6 on something. I don’t get the anger from everyone. We weren’t going to be good forever. Sometimes bad seasons are needed to get back on track. We saw a lot of glory and it’s no longer our time. Think of it this way. We as a fanbase almost deserve this season because we saw so many victories that eventually the pendulum had to swing back. Yes, we are a bad team and yes, I don’t expect that to change this season or even next. There is a process to becoming a good team again.

The anger comes from the lack of direction (when I say anger I don't mean real life anger like something truly bad happened in my life more like something that brought me so much enjoyment for so long is such a mess). Bill has had us floating between rebuild and reload and it has gone nowhere. He threw away last season with the Patricia thing and this season he clearly bungled the roster in March through the summer. 2020 was the time to rip it down and start rebuilding through good drafts and strategic free agent signings and trades. Instead we just churned out a couple mediocre seasons and a playoff berth with a soft schedule and now we have bottomed out when we should be on the upswing in theory.

We made a mistake in 2020 with the Brady situation. I know some people don’t want to hear that and there is nothing we can do about it now, but we fumbled the bag. I read on here from certain people that the reason why getting rid of Brady was a good idea because we needed to rip the bandaid off and rebuild, but we didn’t actually rebuild. I would have found a way to keep Brady, but what is done is done. Though, it’s too bad Cam Newton didn’t work out. There was potential there if he was healthy to keep us relevant a few years.

I hated the Brady move from the start but it is what it is. My issue is 2020 to now. I agree on Cam I really hoped he would at least be a bridge guy for a couple years to keep us in playoff contention. Too bad his body just couldn't do it anymore. Either way it is time to do what we should've done in 2020. Full tear down and hope we hit big in the next few drafts and retain the guys that can play.

You are 100% wrong.

Sam Howell for Washington threw 3 TDs last Sunday.

Yeah just imagine the possibilities if they picked Howell last year instead of your boy zappy smurf.

Cunningham and Greer are looking good.

Haha

Their marriage had run it's course. Tom looked burnt out in 2019 and the future was looking bleak. The roster had been deteriorating and it turned out Bill has made it worse each year since Tom's departure. In fact, it's going in the direction of Bobby Grier all over again.

Whether Tom wanted to stay or not/Bill not wanting to sign him for 2 years, him not returning was the right move for him.

They didn’t resign Cooks or Amendola. Basically shot Gronk out of town. They “goofed” on Jared Cook. These guys didn’t just “get old” and fall off a cliff. They were productive with other teams and they didn’t break the bank either.

But that was when Emperor Bill emerged and was clearly irritated that these players thought the Patriots should pay them a reasonable, near market salary to continue to compete for titles and retire with the organization.

Tampa Bay must have been like “wtf” when viewing the situation from the outside. This org is basically telling the GOAT that he’s a really bad guy for wanting elite playmakers like every other star QB. Must have been a very easy sell. Licht and Arians gave an account of it and were like “are you kidding me?” when they realized they were one of the very few teams who were selling Tom on the opportunity. They said Tom sat down and began to pitch them on why he’d be a strong addition to the roster. Lmfao

I had no problem with them trading Cooks with the assumption there was a plan in place. In fact, many people projected Calvin Ridley would be selected with that pick. Nope, they took an undersized T with T rex arms with that pick. WR wasn’t addressed as per usual.

Gronk had enough of Bill.

I never knew they discussed their negotiations with Brady, I'll have to hunt that down.

In a weird way, the injuries might be a necessary castor oil for the team (not the players - never wish that on a player).

They were a middling team with a weak QB. .500 or thereabouts isn’t getting you one of the key pieces you need.

They are very likely in the top 5 picking, in any of those positions. They really stink right now.

Are you saying the patriots can’t lose to bad teams?

The 29th ranked Washington defense. Lolololololol
