i think this won't be a problem.
The reason for this is:
McVay is able to evaluate talent and improve players. Look at Nacua for example. A fifth rd. rookie is producing like an all pro

i heard rumours after the super bowl that he may retire. If so, can he come out of retirement and come to NE for free? Otherwise it would be too expensive probably and won't happen

regarding Ben Johnson: it's risky i agree but i doubt BoB or Mayo are better options and they are risky too.
Not sure if it was answered already or not but typically he could retire but the team would still hold the rights to the coaches contract. This can work in driving value down but that’s not always the case.

Complaining wont change anything

People not going to the game will. You dont think it will. Ok thats fine
What will it change? Serious question.

And how exactly do you expect a team with a 20 year waiting list for season tickets to not sell tickets? Especially when fans from the other team can buy them.
Do you expect people to pay for tickets and stay home and not sell them?
This isn’t the Miami Marlins this is the NFL.
Perhaps you have examples of this being done?

No. The owner of the business works to create a product in the hopes that the customer will in fact choose them. You know this. Come on man.
That’s not the way being a fan of a sports team works.

Bills record without Brady speaks for itself....it's Lovie Smith
He has been named "Bill Fisherchick" by one poster. I'll let that poster confirm this.

Well being a fan and “going” to the game and buying merch are two separate things

You understand that fans voting with their wallet can still be fans

Or maybe you are saying that when you quit spending money on a team you automatically lose your “fan” privileges???!

Come on, we all know fans fill seats and buy expensive tickets no matter the product on the field! Everyone will show up and pay high ticket prices to see the lighthouse. Why would owners ever even spend any money in the first place? Not like franchise valuation is completely dependent on fan interest and on field success either!

I think BB the GM has already been replaced, or at least augmented. If things continue to go badly the team will need to invest the high draft pick after the associated Mac flameout. Starting again at QB is disruptive on its own, adding the coaching change would mean a total reset.

Again that’s just not how it works.
I mean if it was you could give me an example of an nfl team that was not trying to win so the fans stopped showing up and then they decided they would win now to get them back.

Fans always show up for the NFL. What exactly do you think would change if they didn’t? Owners would decide to stop not trying to win?

I seriously doubt Kraft overruled Belichick. I think that would be a bridge too far for Belichick if the owner was building the team against his will. And after what happened with Parcells, Kraft pretty much vowed he would never force his head coach to draft a player ever again.

This is absolutely right. The deal Belichick made with Kraft was that Belichick has absolute control over football operations, and to my knowledge that has never been broken,

I think there's something internal going on. Not sure what. I know that Belichick coaches players to show their emotions when a teammate makes a great play but there are signs of that not occurring. It seems like when a great play is made it's only that player who's excited. At least it looked that way vs Dallas on those rare occasions that a great play was made by a Patriot.

Is it me or did they miss a lot of tackles in the flat that they'd normally make? It seemed that way but I don't want to go back and see it again to check.
Yeah.. I believe so too. We know this to be true going back to last season. The game was just a combination of just bad football, injuries and turn overs. When that happens it's recipe to loose. They definitely missed alot of tackles. Especially after gonzo went out. Guys were playing out of positions.. the defensive game plan likely went in the trash.

Again that’s just not how it works.

Where am I saying they are not trying to win

what are you talking about

What changes? Who are they going to put on the O-line that are worse than the guys out there now? I suppose they could get Harry back and put him in at WR to make their WR group worse.

Zappe ain't the answer. Neither is that guy they picked up off the scrap heap that was on the Cowboys for a minute.

That's the thing. You could put any QB back there. And nothing is getting better. Zappe came in yesterday and went 4-9 for 57 yards and was running for his life.

The roster is garbage. Fans want to delude themselves into thinking it's a one man fix.

Bill has ignored the offense for special teams and defense for far too long. And what we are left with is poor offensive skill players in a league which is moving more towards offense.

Receivers who can't get open and an OL that can't pass or run block.

If that's true, they are doing a worse job than Bill. This and 2020 were one of the Pats worst off-seasons since 2000.

I don't agree with the Mac criticism. He's a starting QB on 28 other teams in this league.

Maybe it's time the Pats just blow it all up and go on a full blown tank mode for this year and next. The goal should be SB. The Pats are just scraping by to try and be .500 and maybe make the playoff. It's not good enough.

I'm still following the Bucs and they still have big name veterans playing lights out and a bunch of great players on rookie deals. Unfortunately, when I look at the Pats, it's not on the same level.

Starting again at QB is also disruptive because it means once again ignoring trying to land an elite receiver in the draft

Until we get one. No QB is going to succeed in New England with the philosophy of surrounding them with a bunch of #3s

Because they have Godwin and Mike Evans. Having receiving talent means you can win even with a journeyman QB like Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield probably would look garbage on our roster

You are saying if you complain, boycott etc they will make changes because you don’t like the product.
What would they change? If they are tryin to win why would a fan unhappy that they aren’t winning cause them to change something? They are doing what they think is best.
