Not sure why people are so mad or shocked at how this team is playing so far. They lack serious talent almost everywhere on offense and their defense is not good enough to shut any good offense down. In fact, no defense is.

It’s weird seeing Bill getting more animated on the sidelines as each season goes by because the games aren’t going the way they used to. This board would laugh at the opposing team’s coaches complaining to refs on calls not going their way.

Stop making it seem like you are 12. Brady WAS here for the entire 5-13 time period. And yes you are digressing, badly. But not bad for a Jet fan
You do realize he wasn’t playing during that span?

First to 13 wins the game next week

And that's never going to happen when Bill is the head coach because he doesn't value the position like the rest of the league so they need to change the head coach, quarterback or both or we're just going to be going round in circles.

There's no signs running this back in 2024 is going to change anything.
Then they need to get rid of Bill, because even if they move on from Mac.... the next guy isn't going to be Tom Brady either.

This. If ever there's a "get right" team - I feel like coming off an 0-2 start, they'll be ready to go next weekend.
Probably but it will not be pretty or easy.

Said it in another post but it feels like they may have gone to that well one too many times.
100% agree....before training camp I said LT was going to be a huge problem. They did not address it sufficiently. The team is weak at the OL and this will cause pain this season. Bill f'ed up on his roster management

My problem isn’t their record. I just don’t understand why a team that really isn’t a contender is building around guys like JSS, Devante Parker etc. They’re not a young, trending upward team. It’s time to face reality about Mac. Since Brady left they haven’t come up with anything particularly inspiring to address the most important piece.

I don't see the point. Let's say for argument sake that Brady stayed, they hired whoever, and things didn't work out and then like Tampa, Brady retired three years later. They'd be in the same position in the middle of a rebuild with another young quarterback who isn't Brady that they're frustrated can't make this receiving corps look amazing.

It is what it is. I get people are frustrated, but if you play devil's advocate, you essentially end up with three more 10+ win seasons and probably nothing - and still no Brady after year 3 - to show for it.

The guy can't play until he's 50. Gotta let it go.
Never happening so just better to ignore.

50 years from now people will still talk about it. That's how bad it was.

agree it will be a pitchers duel...but
Jets defense >>>Pats defense
Jets OL >> Pats OL
Jets running game >>Pats Running game
Pats QB>>>Wilosn

I suspect under 40 points total
Got the makings of a 14-10 game written all over it - I do think though that our RBs are about equal to the Jets in terms of talent

When your biggest and best off-season signing is a WR with a a bum knee you’ve got problems.

This is the most frustrating aspect to me. We had a chance to grab Dhop or numerous guys in the drafts over last few years... and yet again here we are wondering if Mac would pull out a game winning drive, if his WR knew how to toe tap/get open.

I truly believe if Hopkins was out there instead of 6th round rookies, then we would be 2-0. Mac looks a lot better this year despite running for his life on most plays and it's all going to waste.
Talk to BB. I’m sure BOB would like an playmaking WR.

For the people who believe if you give Mac an elite weapon he will be good i'm gonna need this list of starting quarterbacks who Mac Jones is better than, cause there's not many.

You aren't going to win anything in the NFL in 2023 with one of the 10 worst quarterbacks in football, it's not all his fault but he's just limited and his skillset has arrived 10 years too late.

I think someone said it best, you don't understand one bit what you are watching and it's evident everytime you go on "it's Mac's fault" rant..he definitely made some bad plays but your QB is not accounted for bad line play or wide outs who just can't make those special plays..

Again Mac has made some horrible throws but he actually had a better QB rating than Tua who has better players on his side of the ball and the last two drives by him(Mac) where pretty decent had the line held up for him a little more when it needs to count...

BB the GM has screwed BB the coach. So many head scratcher moves during the last few drafts.

Missed out a franchise QB like Lamar Jackson, missed another solid QB in Hurts. Missed a ton a big play wide receivers...

Didn't want to pay Meyers but you gave Godchaux for some strange reason a ton of money..I could go one for days...

Sox got rid of their GM...i'm just saying..
The last few drafts?

Just last week the announcers were talking about how the Patriots ranked 2nd in the league in terms of players from the last 3 drafts.

Yea. Don’t get this. Also this isn’t a real rebuild. Several years in a row of top 5 picks is

I would say having to make two trades at the end of camp was obviously a bad sign. I'm at least glad they haven't tried to keep pushing for Sow to be a tackle after he ended up being better suited at guard. But it doesn't change the fact that they're in trouble there and they need to hope two guys ultimately settle in. Otherwise, it's going to be a long year.

It's the whole "chicken vs egg" situation. There were plenty of times where both won games because of the other. Go back and think about that playoff game against the Ravens (among a couple of others) where Brady didn't play his best, but they did enough on the other side to weather it.

It's easy to go there. But at the end of the day, they each benefited from working together and it's funny how, prior to Brady leaving, everyone looked at the Cleveland situation with context seeing how that team was 3-1 and playing well before the rug got pulled, one year from a playoff run. Now, the media pulled out those numbers and people are just parroting that nonsense.

Again, I would say thinking the same formula would work may be the one thing you can fault him for since they didn't follow the lead of what other teams in the league have done with a young QB. But as far as the Brady vs Belichick thing, it is what it is.

And as I said, be glad it happened that way for Brady's sake. Because you'd be hearing about all the guys who the talking heads would be saying are potentially better had he not pulled off that win in Tampa. You could also see - whether they got along or not - the difference that Arians made and how Brady didn't pull off another one after he stepped down.
I commend you, Ian, for trying to talk like a reasonable adult to "johnny one note" But he doesn't give a **** about what ANY reasonable poster has to say.
