Rodgers already knocked out of the game against the Bills

His contract is guaranteed. I wouldn’t leave 37.5M on the table in 2024 if I were him. He might not play again but he’ll be having plenty of fun in NYC on Woody’s tab. Also remember the Jets pushed almost the entire cap into 2024

Time to hang it up. Carr would of been the better choice. Younger and wider window to win.

Rodgers joins a long list...
Remember 1999 when Vinny Testaverde ruptured his Achilles, beating the turf in disbelief, curled in the fetal position? Remember Chad Pennington, first with the wrist, then with the shoulder, then with the bone spurs in 2003 and beyond? Remember Brett Favre in ’08 with the torn biceps? Each time, the news came like a crack of lightning through clear skies; a disruption to the moment where the most tortured fan base in the NFL allowed itself a moment of real and sober hope.

Aaron Rodgers isn't exactly my favorite athlete (I can't believe that the ultra-entitled super-weird Zava character on "Ted Lasso" wasn't based on Rodgers), but my main reaction isn't a celebration of the Jet's misfortune 5 minutes into his Jet's tenure...
If it isn't, it should be.

Definitely outside the box

If it's a season ender for Rodgers.. NY would probably call him. Doubt he does it, although they'd be legitimate contenders.

Also, if it's a torn achilles, he'll end up retiring. He couldn't even be assed to show up to OTAs, you think he's going to rehab an achilles for a year?

If he retires he throws away 37.5M and he shouldn’t. Team assumes risk.

Could have partially tore, then popped completely when he tried to walk on it

Ok. But, I've torn a ligament, my ACL. Maybe it was the meniscus that caused all my pain, but I can tell you I wasn't just standing there acting like nothing much happened. I've got a pretty high pain tolerance.
