Roberts isn't injured, not is J. Andrews to our knowledge.
Nor is Wade, to my knowledge...

Anderson practiced today according to reports. Plus, he would have missed 4 games if he stayed on the NFI list. Why activate him from the NFI then to just put him on IR and have to expose a player to waivers in the process?
No. They don't HAVE to promote them to the 53 after 3 games. They only have to promote them if they want them to play again. No I understand that but after 3 games they will need to promote to 53 . So expect those elevations to happen somewhere around 5th to 6th week.
We are fine at CB. You don't understand that Bryant is at the end of the roster. You never have. Contrary to LD, only reason that Bryant is still around is because of Isaiah Bolden's injury. That's true, unfortunately... Yet some people claim that we're "fine" at CB...
Straight to IR candidates: Anderson, J. Andrews, TT, Wade, Roberts.
That will make room for a legit vet QB2, RB3 (could be MonTy/JJ return), and a 3rd TE.
That's a discussion is started. Accentuate the positive and weed out the negative.I think the most incredible thing here is that they had 12 draft picks, they actually USED all 12 picks, and then 11 of those players actually made the 53! And the only guy who didn’t, Bolden, was the final draft pick in the 7th round who was also trending towards making the roster but went to IR due to a freak concussion.
If you told me in the early spring that the Pats would have that many picks, use ‘em all, and then have all but the final one make the roster I would’ve never believed it.
I disagree I think he would have made the roster regardless. Bill loves him and he actually is one of our best zone defenders. They need to avoid putting him in man coverage too often. I think he is a strong candidate to play in the McCourty role.We are fine at CB. You don't understand that Bryant is at the end of the roster. You never have. You've never sounded this coherent when it comes to football.I think Bill may be trying to take advantage of newer PS rules and new emergency QB rules
He may believe and (I agree with him) that Zappe and Malik on the PS may allow him to keep an extra 2 players on the 53 man roster at least for the first 3 weeks.
If Zappe and Cunningham are not claimed on waivers and they agree to go to Patriots PS, In theory Bill can promote MAC from PS to active 53 as backup QB up to 3 times and then send him back to PS without losing the spot on the 53 man roster.
Cunningham, while on PS can be designated as "emergency QB" without taking up a roster spot.
Thus by getting these 2 QB's on PS instead of keeping them on the 53, it allows Bill to keep 2 extra players on the 53 man roster and or use 2 spots on the initial 53 roster to subsequently designate 2 players as IR with option to return.
It would be another big surprise if anyone claims Zappe onto their 53 man roster (after the terrible preseason he had which all team pro personnel directors are likely familiar with)...but if Zappe is pissed at Patriots and some other team offers him a PS spot...maybe he takes it?
Cunningham will probbaly not be taken either onto anyones 53 man roster, but multiple other teams could offer him a PS spot, because he would be an excellent scout team qb to help teams prepare for mobile QB. But I believe Cunningham is likely yo take a spot on Pats PS.
The risk for Bill...is neither of the 2 QB's makes it to practice squad (in which case he signs a UFA qb)
Upside is it provides more flexibility with initial 53 man roster maneuvering
The kicker and tight ends were brutal misses but overall that’s one of Bill’s best drafts in a while.
The emergency QB rule requires the emergency QB be on the 53 man roster.I think Bill may be trying to take advantage of newer PS rules and new emergency QB rules

Yeah unfortunately that theory does not hold up. However it’s entirely possible Bill may still call up Zappe from the PS for two weeks the traditional way. But then he would eventually have to put him on the roster after that, or find someone else. The emergency QB rule requires the emergency QB be on the 53 man roster.
He'll sign one of the QB's once trey hits Partial IR and frees up the roster spot.Yeah unfortunately that theory does not hold up. Ya, since when does the Foxboro Flu mean actual injuries? That's why it's called the Foxboro FluRoberts isn't injured, not is J. Andrews to our knowledge.
Reiff, Anderson and TT are the obvious candidates. Reiff and Anderson bring the OL down to a reasonable number.
Absolutely! And, it sorta counts as an UDFA making the team, since the last couple of those 11 would've been undrafted if we didn't have all our extra picks at the bottom of the draft. ;')I think the most incredible thing here is that they had 12 draft picks, they actually USED all 12 picks, and then 11 of those players actually made the 53! He is keeping details of his health issue private. Apparently from his comments it was really a big deal, a serious scare. He praised the team staff, specifically including strength and conditioning and nutrition as well as Coach Klemm. So he may be closer to ready to go than we’d expect, or at least that’s my hope.??? What's the story on Calvin Anderson.
