Cannot be a good sign to trade for two OTs at cut downs. Homers will waive it off, but Pats clearly are concerned about these tackles. Pray Hassan Reddick misses week one.

The Pats OTs were nothing to write home about last season.

How does it come to this 2 weeks away from the season?

This is poor talent evaluating on the of the o line.
Didn’t Scar give his blessing on our o line draft picks the last few seasons?

The entire board has seemed to be concerned about the line and especially the OTs all through camp and especially after the first preseason game. As a homer, I'm glad they're making moves and hope something sticks.

Anderson is sick. Reiff is hurt. McDermott is hurt. Sow is a rookie. Building a roster is often a messy business in the violent sport of football. Teams accross the league are/will be/should be fortifying weak spots by adding players at cut downs. If they fix the issue why is it an indictment that it was fixed at cut downs, it's all part of the team building process.

Is it better to draft low round players, or trade low round picks and players you are going to cut for linemen with at least some history, either in preseason or in preseason and last year?

Agree with you 100% about difficulty of swapping sides on the OLine.
Which is why drafting a LG and moving him to RT was never likely a quick fix. Drafting Sidy Sow in no way “fixed” our crappy OTs. It was a longer term solution. The bandaids were supposed to be Reiff and Anderson.

Things happen. That’s why you don’t needlessly throw away draft capital on kickers.

And they drive some of us crazy doing it every year just to take shots at BB for not drafting a team that goes undefeated and wins the Lombardi every year.

Ignore the noise.

When do we stop ignoring the results? Just wondering when I should be worried about the lack of Superbowls and playoff wins.

BB the GM has failed BB the HC once again.

No QB replacement ready after Brady. Same type of panic acquiring Cam late in the preseason.
No TE ready to go after Gronk left. Old Ben Watson and a couple of JAGs.
An OL in shambles after a dismal group last season. The Center and Guards will be OK, but the edges weak as cat 5hit.

Defenses will come from the OTs and get to the NE QBs early in the game. Then its a cat and mouse game not knowing when the defense is coming again and when they are backing off. The Pats have never missed the post season 2 seasons in succession under BB, but that was with Brady.

The line will be a turnstile the 1st month of the season.

Hopefully Brown and Sow can add stability.

Sow is inexperienced, so maybe Wheatly who has marginally more time in the league? Lowe seems like a long term backup but better than McDermott. I never thought much of McDermott with virtually no upside. Anderson appears at some point?

Definitely a turnstile. Maybe all year.

I like that we are adding tackle depth... and it seems like they are going for younger guys that could possibly stick long term ... what I don't like is that it's so late in the training camp cycle...

With that said, I like both moves made to solidify the ot position... both players are a bit raw, but have the size and (potential) ability to be more than swing players, given time... all depends on coaching... which leads us to Adrian klemm...

Klemm has yet to show he can put together a solid line that communicates well with each other... that criticism might be unfair considering that the "starters" haven't really played... but injuries happen and you gotta deal... I expected a bit more from the line play after the opposing teams 1s had gotten their reps in the preseason games... but the ol play was just plain bad...

We should have made a full court press to bring back Cole popovich this year... he seemed to get "it" ... maybe we did, but I hadn't heard a whisper of such a move this off-season...

If it is heads will roll.
