an idiot like me
So it looks like OTs on the roster will be Trent Brown, Sidy Sow, Wheatley and Lowe, right?
That means McDermott and Stueber are gone. Reiff is injured, Anderson never made it off PUP. Is that it?
I think it’s safe to say that having Anderson on NFI unable to practice being sick all preseason and McDermott and Reiff injured at the end of camp was disastrously bad luck.Well I think it’s safe to say the way we went about fixing our OT issues this offseason was a disaster.

Vested Vets can't be Waived/Injured. He'd be IRed. The question is whether or not they have to do an Injury Settlement since his Salary is guaranteed.Waived injured I think. He may well retire if he’s out for the season with his injury.
Steuber never played LT before this year. Yet all his snaps were at that position in Camp. Why does Sow get a pass but Steuber doesn't?Steuber is not that good.
True. But if not released he’ll be on Reserve/NFI and unable to practice for 6 weeks, so pretty much the same effect.Anderson is on NFI (Non-Football Illness), no PUP.
All this last minute cramming could have been alleviated by, as some of us criticized, _drafting_ tackles. We had what 14 picks the last draft?
Guys with higher ceilings were there.
If Bill had calmed down and had a cognac and cigar on draft night and didn’t trade up with the Jets, we could have used the abandoned pick 184 on LT Jaelyn Duncan—and still taken Chad Ryland at 120. Almost identical athleticism to Sidy Sow, Duncan spent four years as Maryland’s starting LT. Plus, we need more Scots on the team.
RASRAS Compare
Have you ever wanted to look at two players side by side and see how they tested when compared to one another? Does that new rookie your team drafted remind you of a player from yesteryear and you&…ras.football
Lowe was the next pick after Kevin Harris. Ugh.
Jamaree Salyer was taken 11 spots later than Lowe. Salyer had 14 starts at LT last year for Chargers. Ugh.
Good thing we traded up for a K in the draft instead of drafting a quality T….

Couldn’t he be cut instead of IRed? Or does the salary guarantee preclude that? Seems to me they should be able to cut him to free the roster slot even if they still have to pay him. So probably an injury settlement will be required somehow. Now I’m curious how all that factors into salary cap calculations…Vested Vets can't be Waived/Injured. He'd be IRed. And they drive some of us crazy doing it every year just to take shots at BB for not drafting a team that goes undefeated and wins the Lombardi every year. All this 20/20 draft hindsight kvetching is pointless. You guys can drive yourselves crazy doing it with any draft from any year. Let's see how these new additions pan out, they just might prove more productive than any late-round rookies the Patriots COULD HAVE taken while not giving up much for them.

Because DEs blow by Steuber and not Sow.
