All time Draft sign up

I'm thinking 5 mins between picks. I actually think the first round will go extremely quick.

Ok what about Monday at 8 est? I would do this weekend but I wouldn't be able to really commit until Friday. Most of the time we don't know about working the weekend until later in the week but I'm down to even start this weekend if I'm not working
Mon at 8 is fine with me though I will have to leave at 10. Maybe spread it over two days and do tues at 8 if we aren't finished? Are we doing posts here on this thread?

How do trades work? You said everyone gets one trade which im good with. For example let's say I have pick 6 and 7 and I want 2. I now get a pick at the very end of the draft to fill out my roster?

Yea definitely spread over a few nights. We can just stop at 10 I'm sure 2 hours will be long enough. Again I'm anticipating this first round to go very quick considering the task.

No I'll create a separate thread specifically for picks.

@Ian are we able to set up a group chat between multiple members?

We could do it that way. If not in the thread itself. If we're only allowing 2 trades that's doable and we can post it with picks to be more efficient.

Terrell Owens

My RD2 pick is on the table or specifically ask another poster for their pick(s).

I'm curious if we even need trades considering there's only a few of us. I'm open to suggestions.

Just so I'm clear.

You have 6 & 7 overall and want #2 overall? So you'd lose a pick?

I would say you get to pick someone once the draft is over from whoever is left? Or the last pick in the draft?

Yes, I can potentially open the chat room that night if that works.

Definitely. Was hoping for 10-15 to make it interesting.

Any thoughts on the process?

It's funny. I originally misread your original post and thought this was an all time Patriots player draft. And I thought, are people going to draft Bledsoe and Grogan in the first round so they don't end up with Marc Wilson? LOL.

I think a Pats player only draft some time in the future would be really cool. Would probably want no more than 8 drafters, but I think it would be really cool for those of us who have a deep knowledge of Pats teams from the 60's on. No, I am not THAT old, but I inhaled anything Patriots related since I was a kid.

Anyway, back to this draft....

I agree that the more people, the more challenging (and better) the draft.

Just about any day/time works for me. Weekend are probably the worst though.

I would be up for a full roster, but I understand the hesitation. That's a big undertaking, but my vote would be for full roster. Or almost full roster: 2 QB, 4 WR, 3 RB, 6 OL, 3 TE. 18 on O, 18 on D. And a K and P make 38 rounds? Make it 40 if you want a KR or PR although a lot of the great ones might be drafted as WR's, DB's, etc anyway.

Whatever the rules though, I am in.

I want to do an all Pats one. All college one, which is the one I want to do the most. Something to do in the offseason.

Maybe we could try Mon/Tues night take a few days off and try one more round for some depth?

@Boomer B u ok with that?

I definitely want in on the Pats draft, but will have to bow out of the college.

What do you think about adding a Head Coach to the draft?

I'm all for a HC, even OC/DC but again I know it's a lot. Maybe that could be on that 3rd day if we decide to do it.

Cmon we need like 3-4 more posters.

I would also be down to do one from start to 1980.

I'm spending a ton of time on two positions looking for specific types of skill sets.

I think ik exactly how I want to approach this and attack the draft. Definitely planning on zigging and taking a specific route.

I’m good for the all-NFL draft. I think best starting roster is good. 11 O, 11 D, 4 ST. That way you have to commit to a system. Do you want 3 wide? 2 TE? Fullback? 4-3? Going just starters in my opinion makes it much more interesting. I also like the idea of drafting a coach.

Would you be willing to do another round later next week?

I'm thinking Mon/Tuesday - 8 - 10pm. Friday night or Sunday morning to round out the roster. I know it's a lot it would be really cool to see some depth, couple extra guys for a sub package etc

Maybe Mon 14, Tuesday 14, Friday or Sunday 14 + HC.

3 more people would make 10 and make this a lot more interesting.

I promise the first round is going to fly by. I think we bang it out in an hour or less. I have guys in tiers. Few different plans for QB. Honestly we'll all be prepared. R2 & possibly 3 might take two but again we'll be prepared and literally have everyone to choose from.

@Boomer B has swayed me. 11/11 + 4 ST. Create a starting roster for game day.

There have to be 3 more people to make it 10!

If we only get 7 people what about doing two teams each where we could divide it a few different ways such as AFC and NFC, Pre/Post 1980 or 1990 (or another date), or something else somebody suggests.

Also we could just keep the draft always running. Just start it whenever and we share email addresses and after you make your pick you email the next person. No time is going to work for everyone and if I have my phone and list with me I could still draft from a kid's soccer game or whatever.

I think drafting HC and even OC/DC could be interesting as well.

I just feel...incomplete lol.
Whatever you decide, I am in. I will be off the grid next Wednesday and Thursday though. Otherwise, I'll be here.

I think AFC/NFC might be difficult because of the movement of players between the conferences. A year split would be interesting though. Somewhere between 1980 and 1990.

For players who straddle that cutoff year, we would have to figure out a rule though.

If we do a longer draft, we could have the assigned 2 hour windows that we agree upon to be live. Then, we keep the draft going in the thread with no time limit. Once your pick is up, make the pick even if it's 3:00 AM. Then we go rapid fire once we hit the next agreed upon window of live drafting. Maybe only a few picks get made during the offtimes, but that's ok.

I really want to do a 3rd round but it can be a few days after. Again thinking that Friday or Sunday just in case I have to work Saturday.

We could play around with a few different ways. Where certain posters have a certain conference. Ik a college one might be tough for some but that would be the best imo for a few different reasons. It's just bizarro world where Johnny Football & Josh Johnson > Tom Brady. They playing fields are even bc they're more players to choose from.
