I remember the pizza counter guy at the grocery store asking me who I thought would win. I told him I was lousy at making predictions like that but I did pointedly add, "if it's close at the end the Patriots will win". I was right, but damned if I had even the slightest notion that "close at the end" would manifest in such an improbable and dramatic way.
