Tired of the mac jones hate...

Those characters exist to stoke controversy. Why in the world would you waste your time listening to them. And if you did why in the world would you take them seriously? And if you did why would anything they say bother you?

There exist a group of entertainers who wish to attract you to listen to them so that they can say whatever will make you angry and drive you crazy. Why would you knock on their door?
Every once in a while I come across a post that I want to put a frame around and hang on a wall in my home. That's one of those.

There was a time when sports talk was actually about sports but those days are long gone. I went from Inside the NFL with Nick Buonoconti and Lenny Dawson talking for 15 minutes while showing 45 minutes of action to the clusterf*** we have today with 6 blowhards talking for 45 minutes instead. I'll pass thank you.

Not sucks. Mediocre.

Mediocre: of moderate quality, not very good.

Perfect fit for Mac.

"Sucks" is of poor quality, very bad.

Mediocre and sucks are not the same.

I will give you that. You won't eliminate the 2022 because Patricia was a piece of crap. You expected Mac to overcome Patricia like any elite QB would and because he didn't, you are convinced he sucks.

And listen to your argument and realize how stupid it is. You think Mac Jones sucks because he couldn't overcome Matt Patricia because Patricia was so bad that Belichick had to virtually take over the offense because the offense was so poorly run. In 20 years, Belichick mostly let the OC have a lot of autonomy and he focused most of his attention on defense and special teams. This year it was the opposite. And this is why you argue that Jones should have played really well.

And you claim you are objective.
Just as Andy Reed's strength is offense, Bill's is defense. The difference lately between the two teams, besides at QB, is that Reed went out and got Spagnuolo, a very successful DC. Bill instead tried to convert Patricia from DC to OC and it clearly showed on the field.

When a player has a lousy year, they usually receive criticism.

They can either sulk, or use it as motivation to improve.

Sure there were unavoidable circumstances, called Matt Patricia, but Patricia is gone, so hopefully that’s the end
Of the excuses.

Judge is still around.

It's kind of a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation for Mac Jones. If he voices his displeasure about a clueless coach he's a crybaby who needs to toughen up. If he keeps quiet about it he's sulking and needs to grow a pair.

Mac's rookie year he got pounded quite a few times and popped right back up. In an interview that year they asked him about getting nailed so often, he said he likes it, gets his juices flowing.

Hey this stuff belongs in the Last Of Us episode 3 talk!

If I am Mac , after hearig RKK, belichick vote of no confidence in him and the flirtations with lamar trade, i would just want to immediately leave new england.

Mac might start to request a trade elsewhere. We screwed up Macs development and shifting blame on him is not on.

If I am Mac, I'm coming to training camp jacked, pumped, with my hair on fire and a huge chip on my shoulder, ready to kick maximum ass.

Based on what? The way he sprinted off the field with an ankle sprain and was carrying on as they dragged him down into the tunnel was a really bad look. You can't deny that. It was the opposite of a display of toughness.
I stepped flush on nail it went 95% in and had to pull it out didn't cry like Mac Jones did.

Nah I would aim to prove my doubters wrong if I view myself as the face of the team.

Provided they set me (Mac) up for success . Like doubts everywhere . McCourty now stating that pats should explore a trade , Phillips tweeting about lamars capabilities .

I honestly would want to prove everyone wrong. But is it feasible In a negative environment with so much doubts ?

You don't know that. We all will find out soon enough.
32 NFL starts. I personally have seen enough, especially to know an uber-talented football player like Lamar Jackson is much better and will give my team a much better chance of being competitive with the better teams in the conference (which is totally stacked for the next 5 years at least).

You might think so but the fact is, you haven't. Mac's rookie campaign showed ample promise, last season was a coaching abortion. This coming season will be telltale whether he can parlay his greatest talents -- throwing accuracy and LOS processing -- into a winning formula. Thirty-two NFL starts isn't enough to judge any young quarterback still learning the pro game, especially considering how Mac was mishandled last year.

Being a fan of Lamar has nothing to do with determining Mac's potential.

When you have mad skills and versatility like Josh Allen then you can be more patient in your evaluation. By season 3, career start 28, Allen was fully off and running. With Hurts you could see him building momentum in season 2 and he had 19 career starts heading into his 3rd season which he finished as an NFL MVP runner-up. Lawrence took one full season to adjust his game, he's ascending now, and his talent presents a very high ceiling yet.

Mac was inconsistent his rookie season and finished going in the wrong direction. He wasn't good in season 2. Comparatively his talent is way below the likes of Allen, Hurts, and Lawrence. Can his accuracy be an asset? Yes. I wouldn't call his LOS processing "great" but I suppose it could develop into a strength. I'll concede Mac can max out all of his potential strengths... but in my opinion, based on what I've seen to date, he'll never be good enough to make the team around him better. The reverse could potentially happen but the current supporting cast doesn't qualify... at least a bonafide WR1 needs to be added (like Hopkins or better).

OK. For now, we'll give your assessment an "I," for incomplete. Because that's all it is and all it can be at this stage of Mac's development regardless of how many comparisons you want to make with other quarterbacks.
