Tired of the mac jones hate...

Based on what? The way he sprinted off the field with an ankle sprain and was carrying on as they dragged him down into the tunnel was a really bad look. You can't deny that. It was the opposite of a display of toughness.

The fact that he had a high ankle sprain that the team thought required surgery which would have put him out of action for at least a month or longer and he was on the field practicing four days after the injury.

That's great. Did you read what I said? How did Mac look when he frantically hopped off the field and screamed his way back to the locker room? Was that a "pretty tough" look?

I read what you said. I just didn't care because him practicing on an injury that should have kept him out for at least a month trumps that.

Conveniently you don't care about something that put Mac in a bad light. I think embarrassment is an appropriate characterization. But he made it back in less than a month to play like garbage and get humiliated by the coaching staff on national tv. So I guess it all worked out in the end.

Stop watching Cable TV News (of any stripe), limit social media only to family/what's necessary for the job levels, and be rid of talk radio and you'll be no less informed and a helluva lot happier.
There seem to be a lot of people into BDSM... I mean doing all that is pretty much the same. Don't judge how people get their jollies.

I think Bill hates Mac more than anyone.

I don't care how he responded to when he got the injury. Anyone who got that injury would have been knocked out of the game no matter how tough he is. I care that he came back and practiced through the injury and he might have played if the games were for playoff implications rather than games early in the season. That is toughness.

I get it. You have an irrational hate for the guy. You will turn any positive with him into a negative and any negatives into a constitutional crisis.

In other words... "forget what I said." It's common practice here to dismiss statements, opinions and arguments because they must be biased because we're "haters." How about some people just aren't impressed with Mac's ability. He's had 32 NFL starts now... can we pass judgment on those? Or are we reserving all opinions until after next season? 2021 doesn't count because he was a rookie or unless we're talking about the fake pro bowl nod. 2022 doesn't count either because of Patricia, an easy scapegoat for everyone, even the guy responsible for hiring him. Very accommodating fans.

No. It is "there is no use arguing with you because you won't give an inch and just keep on repeating the same thing in different ways".

And I have seen enough of your posts to know you are a Mac hater. Only Triumph is a bigger Mac hater than you. Every single Mac Jones thread you are constantly trashing Jones for everything.

I'm done fighting it, and I'll let the hate wash over. It means nothing anyway because what happens in 2023 is all that matters and Mac is already in a key year, as is Belichick. You've got Mac, Zappe, and whoever else they sign/draft behind these guys.

With two guys on rookie deals, gotta roll with what you've got and hopefully add some talent until a better option emerges. Otherwise, bashing the kid - aside from whatever form of personal gratification that provides - doesn't mean much since none of us have any control over it and there are no other options.

I said he's mediocre. That's not fair to this point? Come on, take a look at his numbers.

Combined ranking for 2021 and 2022 (among all QBs with at least 100 pass attempts)

25th Passer Rating (89.0)
22nd Y/G (219.3)
28th Y/A (7.1)
35th TD% (3.7)
32nd INT% (2.5)
36th GWD (1)

Honestly, I'm being nice with saying mediocre.

We don't know what he is because last year he was given one worst OCs and offensive systems in Patriots' history.

But why combine his rookie numbers with last year? I know why. Because his rookie numbers were good or at least average which is good for a rookie. But when you combine them with his second year where he had one of the worst offenses and OCs in Patriots and possibly NFL's history, it makes him look really bad.

But at least we established you are a hater who lacks objectivity.

Their repetitive bashing of Mac is getting tedious, but I guess I don't mind the fight. I would rather give the counter version than just let the ridiculous and overboard Mac hate narrative take hold.

I have no idea what Jones is. I think he is far better than the haters think he is, but who knows if he is the QB of the future for this team? He could just be average and he won't get much better than his 2021 season. Or he could be very good especially if the Pats give him weapons. Or he could turn into a top 10 or even close to top 5 QB. I think there is a lot of unknown about the guy. I have said that if he can pull together what he did well in 2021 (good pocket presence, quick release, decisive decision making, precision passing on shorter throws) and what he did well in 2022 (big play throws), he can be a top 5-10 QB. But who knows if he can pull it all together?

Their minds are made up. All any of us can do is wait for 2023 and see how it goes. And even then, people will probably still hate him because that's the world we live in now. "It is what it is."

************, I'm combining the 2021-2022 numbers of every QB in the NFL and comparing them. It encompasses all of Mac's starts. Unlike you, I'm not going to eliminate an entire season because the OC was a POS. The HC was Bill Belichick, the GOAT, who supposedly was going to be very hands-on with the offensive this past season. What happened?

Yeah, they will always trash the guy no matter what.... Except if Belichick trades or cuts him and he becomes a good or great QB somewhere else and then they will bash Belichick for letting him go.

But seriously as long as he is Patriot, he could be an All Pro and they will say he sucks and point to individual plays where he fails in games where he throws for 400 yards, 4 TDs, and 0 picks as proof he sucks.

Mac's rookie year he got pounded quite a few times and popped right back up. In an interview that year they asked him about getting nailed so often, he said he likes it, gets his juices flowing.
Brady used to be called soft by the ignorant too.
Hey you don't like Mac, just say so but don't use a one second screen shot of him being in pain as being soft. I've seen many football players make the same face when injured. Some of you guys are just silly with the hate.

I will give you that. You won't eliminate the 2022 because Patricia was a piece of crap. You expected Mac to overcome Patricia like any elite QB would and because he didn't, you are convinced he sucks.

And listen to your argument and realize how stupid it is. You think Mac Jones sucks because he couldn't overcome Matt Patricia because Patricia was so bad that Belichick had to virtually take over the offense because the offense was so poorly run. In 20 years, Belichick mostly let the OC have a lot of autonomy and he focused most of his attention on defense and special teams. This year it was the opposite. And this is why you argue that Jones should have played really well.

And you claim you are objective.

Not sucks. Mediocre.

Poor Bill, had to clean up the mess, HE MADE.

And he let the OC have a lot of autonomy for 20 years because he had Brady at QB.
