NFLPA - Patriots ranked 24th in the NFL By Players

This is interesting:

These were the grades from the "player respondents" from the survey and the overview:

"The New England Patriots ranked 24th in our team guide. The player respondents’ feedback from our survey described the club’s facility as old, dated and in need of renovation. The staffing of the current facilities was also flagged as an issue in need of improvement, specifically in the weight room and training room. The player respondents’ indicated that facilities and operations at the Patriots can use a refresh.

Given the results, it is understandable that only 64% of players believe club owner Robert Kraft is willing to spend the money necessary for upgrades, ranking him 26th in this category."

The link has a further breakdown on each category.
Any way your slice it. Pro/Vs NEP - this is not good. There may be some hate bias here but on the whole it's clear the NEP need to invest in the program's infrastructure.

This poll is also a year old and by accounts the Pats are also updating their facilities as well as a new part of the stadium.

This is being used to kick the Pats while they're down.
Thanks for that piece of information... and @archstanton543 .. what don't you agree with?

The cap space was created by the NFL owners.. the owners control the NFL they set Goodells 50 million salary.. why wouldn't they created a salary cap..

It's about profit margins... they are running a business 1st... it's the absolute truth agree or not...

BB is the draw for free agents, not the locker room or weight room. Hell, I think the graduated tax thing that was just voted into law in November would be more of a deterrent.

Yes, they're running a business. They try to maximize profits. And?

?? BB the draw? I'll partially agree with that.. BB as she should is respected! But I don't know that he necessarily is the draw.. # 12 was the draw, is why players took less to come here.. we always won or had great chances to during that time.

I'm not disagreeing with your statement I'm just stating what the current state of the team is and how they are perceived..

The facilities, ect everything is what attracts FAs once we get back to looking the patriots that perception will again shifts... is what is is.. ups and downs, smiles and frowns..

Yeah, players who came here after TB have said as much.

I love following our team because I love the game and it is a good distraction.
We at time glorify these players and owners
When I see this BS. I come back down to earth and realize that the owners and players are a bunch of spoiled brats.
They play a game and make millions but a private plane with personal space and massage tables in it gets a D+
While I personally sit in a 2 hour traffic jam after every game after I dished out $500/day to help buy that personal plane
I must be a fool or need to be really distracted

I really doubt this stuff comes up much when agents are talking job offers with their clients.

Agent: "The Patriots are offering you 15.5 million/3 year and the Bears are offering 15/3."
Player: "**** the money, tell me about the day care."

Great points!!! The unfortunate part is... potential FAs watch this type of ****!!

To maximize profits you have to win, to win you have to acquire top end talent and retain that talent, in the current era, work environment is an important contributor to attracting top end talent when your competitors have certain advantages like climate and tax free states.

The team is worth billions of dollars...most of these items can be dramatically improved with relatively small capital outlays.
A poor reputation hurts the value of your billion dollar investment.

This is bad for long term profits and bad for the team

The players read this crap and talk among themselves and it creates a perception of teams in the back of their mind.
Its one component that may go into decision making for players in an ultra competitive market where the sellers of top end talent are in short supply.
Not likely the major deciding factor, but I would not dismiss it entirely either. Its a prestige thing.

TV revenue is split, nothing to do with winning. If the stadium is sold out, and the TV revenue is split, winning adds only a small amount on top. The Cowboys have not won in almost 30 years, and they are still the highest valued team in the NFL.

Much ado about nothing. Certain Felger and Mazz will rant and rave along with the other talking loonies.

you mean newer facilities have better perks?

no way!

some players care about locker room gaming stations.....some care about wanting to win......i know which sort of free agents i'd like to see come here.....and guess what, players STILL want to play for BB and this team......you here it out of the kids coming out of college, you hear it out of FAs.......this fluff (based on year old data) makes for nice radio & twitter fodder on a snowy day in March, but beyond that.......

Weird to think of the idea that Gillette is starting to show its age.
Agreed. Hell we are starting to see some teams with facilities built in the early 00’s - barely 20 years ago! - talk about wanting new stadiums. Cleveland, Baltimore and Washington come to mind (although I think Baltimore was built in the 90’s).

@archstanton543 , brother I don't post things looking for agreement or disagreement.. I enjoy the forum and others thoughts and opinions.. no one is wrong or right here.. were are all fans..

However this is the 2023 patriots not the teams from the past.

Alot of us get stuck in the allure of what we were used too. Last season was a big eye opener for me as a fan. We have to understand we need talent, yeah sure there is the draft wich we build for the future and try to stay competitive..

However Mac is in his rookie deal we need to be building as much around him to maximize his potential to know going forward he is the qb of the future
What does this mean? Everything is agreed by the owners and NFLPA in a legal document voted on by the players.
The owners get whatever they want in the CBA I'm a big union guy so I know full well how contracts work.. players constantly complain about the NFLPA..

Look it up! It's said of all the major sports the NFL players union is the weakest
