Is Yodny Cajuste a FA??to be honest… if Wynn’s free agent market is really weak, I would be fine with bringing him back as a depth LT.

That's what I was hoping then get Hopkins and make a run.Yeah, I just think there’s a gulf between Kraft really liking Mac and Kraft saying “over my dead body” and blocking it if Bill was seeking to trade him. But obviously, who knows if Bill is even looking at that. I think it’s doubtful; the only scenario that makes sense to me is if Bill really wanted to bring Garoppolo back.

If they had left him at LT last year and left Brown at RT, they would have been a better offense. I think that move really pissed him off, as it likely cost him millions of $$$.to be honest… if Wynn’s free agent market is really weak, I would be fine with bringing him back as a depth LT.
The only way it had a chance at happening was if Josh became desperate and REALLY believed in him. Even then, given the way Kraft is talking, it probably wouldn't have happened.A trade would be stupid. Why would they dump him at fire sale prices.
Should have traded Zappe last season though. His value was highest after the Browns game and it will never be that high again.
this story is a travesty of media driven narratives.Kraft is taking more control over team operations.
Its clear from his comments.
I mentioned that long ago.. BB only has his ego to blame.. as great as BB has been... 2022 was totally self inflicting.. that set back the franchise In a sense..We are watching Kraft take more power away from BB.
It never ends well.
You make very valid points. However I'll just add a few points.Let's be real, what has Mac Jones actually accomplished with the Patriots? Not a hell of a lot. He barely squeaked us into the playoffs his first season but got spanked by Buffalo in the playoffs. Then in year 2 he painfully REGRESSED and threw obvious tantrums on the field, acting like a spoiled baby.
There's nothing about Mac Jones that screams 'I'm UNTOUCHABLE Franchise QB'.
So the truth likely lies somewhere in between. I very much DOUBT Kraft is taking position of 'trade Mac over my dead body'. It's yet another media exaggeration. But guys like Curran get PAID to stir up controversial headlines, just like Breer does on the opposite extreme of the keep or trade Mac spectrum.
The sad truth is Mac Jones is the most likely option simply because we don't have BETTER options on the roster.
Yes you could try to go into the draft and get a better option, and I'd argue there are at least 2-3 prospects in the 2023 NFL draft class that have better upside, athleticism, and potential than Mac Jones but the question is does one of them slide to 14 or do you have to make a steep draft capital investment to climb up high in the 1st round to take one of them?
So, although not ideal, from a realistic point of view, I see the Patriots staying the course. They hope that Mac Jones can return to his rookie form with a functional OC who has a brain and knows what he's doing. BOB alone will be a quantum leap forward from the stumbling bumblings of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge.
If Mac Jones falls on his face in his third year, then we'll know that he's not the guy, and was never going to be the guy. My fear is that he's just bang average and does just enough to win and we stick with him anyways. And then we end up paying top 10 QB money to a guy who is more like the 15th-20th best QB in the league. Look at how Carson Wentz is robbing the Washington Generals - 33m AAV for 11 TDs and 9 interceptions last year? OOF. What? You're saying Mac isn't as bad? He threw only 14 TDs with 11 interceptions last season. I dunno, that's feeling very Carson Wentz comparable!

I wonder if they roll the dice with another QB who needs a little work. Hendon Hooker in the 3rd?Let's be real, what has Mac Jones actually accomplished with the Patriots? Not a hell of a lot. Hmm I wonder why BB didn't try what he did with Mac to the GOAT... in yr 2... oh let me think he won him a superbowl and had alphas like crennel & wise to coordinate his units... not 2 ass kissers...I wonder if they roll the dice with another QB who needs a little work. Hendon Hooker in the 3rd?
New England Patriots
8-9 · 3rd in AFC East
Best win: 38-15 over Cleveland Browns (Week 6)
This was the one week when New England found the kind of consistent offensive success it enjoyed in 2021. The Patriots simply outcoached the Browns on both sides of the ball, taking a 24-6 lead in the third quarter and forcing Cleveland to rely heavily on Jacoby Brissett's arm. His second interception of the day led to the Patriots touchdown that pushed their lead to 18, and from there, all they had to do was coast to victory. Bailey Zappe's 309 passing yards and two touchdowns (in place of Mac Jones) and Rhamondre Stevenson's 19 rushes for 76 yards and two scores served as proof the unit could produce in the right situations, and with a proper offensive game plan.

It's still telling to me BB won't publicly state Mac is his QB, like he did for cam..After last year, with BB and Matty P destroying any semblance of an Offense. I think BB knew he screwed up and does not want to look that bad again any time soon. He may be stubborn but I am sure he does not like to look dysfunctional.
I don’t think BOB would have committed here if he was not going to have control of the Offense and have some input in personal moves. He knew MAC was here and knows thats his guy to build an Offense around and probably feels good about working with him or else he would not have come here if he thought the QB position was in flux.
Just click bait. Kraft was probably asked is MAC is on the trading block and he replied “over my dead body”. Not
as a dig to BB but just his support of MAC.
