NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Super Bowl Game Day Pregame/Game Thread (Eagles vs Chiefs)

That can be said for any close contest in any sport though, right? That doesn't mean it's rigged.
Football has the highest risk cause you can or cannot call penalties any way you like. And change the rules anyway you like. The Pats vs Eagles SB, they were going on about how they let the players play at the end of a game. Now it's OK to call phantom holds.

Basketball has it to a much lesser degree.

As for the other major sports, hockey baseball, soccer. I'd say it's acceptable.

He will always be owned by the Manning boys when it counts the most.
Let's see now... you're a Chiefs, Colts, Broncos, Giants, 49ers and Packers fan. Why are you on this forum??

Hmm, kind of an interesting poll. Not everyone thinks Brady is the GOAT it would seem. And this was taken last week before Mahomes heroics yesterday. 64K people voted. Mahomes already has 40% on Brady and he’s just getting warmed up.
Mahomes heroics? Brady throws for 466 yards and overcomes a 3-28 deficit to win a Super Bowl and he's a lucky chump. Mahomes throws for 182 and is gifted a win by the refs and he's heroic. You're a joke.

The heroic effort by a quarterback yesterday came from Hurts. Too bad the refs denied him an opportunity to win the game.

The Superbowl Game Day Discussion thread completely turned into Brady and Patriots bash-a-thon the second the clock struck zero by our village idiot troll. Eli and Peyton Manning, spygate, deflategate, you named it all on the table for that ahole

Brady:

10 Super Bowl appearances
7 Super Bowl rings
5 Super Bowl MVPs
1-0 vs Mahomes in the Super Bowl

Mahomes:

3 Super Bowl appearances
2 Super Bowl rings
2 Super Bowl MVPs
0-1 vs Brady in the Super Bowl

Is what backwards universe is Mahomes suddenly the GOAT?? I'd say stop talking like a dumbass but you can't help yourself.

Seriously! WTF!?!

Even most adamant Brady haters from other cities are willing to at least acknowledge Brady is the GOAT no matter who much they resent him for depriving their teams of championships.

You need to get out of Boston. I already posted the poll about 40% of people saying Mahomes is better than Brady.
Maybe you should argue Belichick is "owned" by the Manning boys since it's Belichick's defenses that have failed against them.

You're the one who likes head-to-head QB comparisons.

Mahomes beat a historic pass rushing team last night. Brady couldn't beat single team in the super bowl with a great pass rush. He would have gotten eaten alive last night by Reddick, Hargrave, etc.

Relax. The game is over and the thread is dying.

Jalen Hurts didn't shake hands with Mahomes on the field after the game. Can't wait till that gets blown up into a scandal like it always does for another QB we know.

Yep.

Honestly I am giving up watching ESPN next year. Same with FS1 and other shows. Everything has to be a comparison. So prisoner of the moment.

Sports radio is out too.
Listen to Moving the Chains on Sirius/XM, it‘s on weekdays from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. The best football show on the air.

They had plenty of opportunities to determine the outcome of the game before that play, though.
Yeah, Philly made mistakes and the D dissapeared in the 2nd half, and so instead of a blowout they should have had the ball last to determine the outcome of the game.

It wasn't just a holding penalty called. There was no holding. It was the ref arbitraryly ending the game and calling the Chiefs the winner.

It's a pattern that is getting more blatant, has people forgotten what happened to NO a few years back. Now with the expedited review process, the league has more control of the game. They want less blowouts, more nailbaiters, and media darlings to win.

I would take Jalen Hurts as my QB in an instant... but that last throw...

I mean, if you have legs and you're accurate and have some touch, you can be a QB in this league.

He might have the weakest arm by far of any starting NFL QB

The Eagles got blatantly robbed of an opportunity to at least send that game into OT. The way Hurts was moving that offense, there's little doubt they were at least getting into FG range with a final drive. That fake penalty is one of the most outrageous instances in the history of the Super Bowl.

Right, two things can be true at the same time.

I just wrote the penalty should never have been called, but IMO the refs didn't lose the game, the Philly D lost the game.

They had a ten point lead at half time, despite Hurts spotting KC seven points on the fumble.

Where was the Philly D in the second half?

How come not a single sack of Mahomes?

Everyone knows Kelce is KC's best receiver, how come he was open so much?

Fun fact: Davonta Smith actually had more yards and more catches than AJ Brown.

IMO the Philly offense did about as well as we could expect by getting 35, the highly vaunted defense is what let Philly down.
Correct. 35 points should win that game.

The meltdown on this forum over Mahomes is hilarious...:rofl::rofl:

Just accept that he is an amazing player and will be the guy the NFL world will talk about for the next 15 years or so. Brady had his time in the sun and now that's over. It is what it is.

You need to get your head out of Patrick's ass. There's always an artificial spike so close to the event. What do you think that poll read for Brady in his 10th Super Bowl?

Whatever, 40% of people in that poll are ****ed in the head.
