Inside the most dysfunctional Pats season under BB

Taking Sony was more forgivable than Harry or Brissett. Seahawks took Rashad Penny 9 picks ahead of the Pats. How do you think they feel? While Harry was projected to be a late 1st rounder, he had no business leapfrogging AJ Brown, Metcalf and Samuel. I'm not the biggest fan of Prescott, but lots of teams slept on him.

What I find interesting is that posters will dog other franchises for making moves to "win now", but come to the Pats defense if they indirectly win a title with bad drafting - ignoring future ramifications. Bad drafting always leads to a team's demise and that ultimately ended the Pats dynasty. Had the Pats drafted say Chubb and either Metcalf, Samuel or Brown one year later, Brady retires a Patriot.
If a pick is instrumental in you winning a Super Bowl it's not a bad pick. We're all geniuses with 20-20 hindsight and I know some of you guys wanted Chubb but every team makes mistakes in the draft, if there was a GM out there who could nail every round of every draft his team would win the Super Bowl half the time.

Maybe. I'm glad they took Sony and he helped win a championship. I wouldn't risk changing one thing. Ya know, butterfly effect and all. ;)

Agree.. but another butterfly effect had undesirable effect..

Draft Nkeal Harry ... Overpay Sanu , hastily sign Ab, Gordon --- hasten Brady leaving pats.. bill losing trust in wide receivers draft ... Overpay Tight ends ( Jonnu, Henry)...overpay agholor...

Now tell me would you want to flip the script on that ???

I personally wouldn't change a thing. I feel very content with all the good fortune and great players that came our way. We won 6 championships; how many were you expecting?

What happened is what happened and I'm content. You're advocating for Chubb instead of Sony after Sony helped us win a SB is complete nonsense. Who's to say that Chubb wouldn't have missed a block of a DE in pass pro and Brady gets hit and his career ends before the end of that SB winning season? "What if" games are dumb, because you can paint any picture you want and never have to deal with what happened and what is currently happening. Believe me (maybe you know this too) it can always get worse for our franchise. Many of us have witnessed some dark times in Foxboro. Just enjoy the recent memories of duck boat parades and fancy banners. But above all else, try to enjoy the process of the team being rebuilt.

I can do this too. Harry works out, Brady works tirelessly with him during the off season, comes to OTA's, doesn't talk to the Dolphins during training camp. Sanu assumes #2, #3 reciever role. Brown comes in and follows Patriot leadership from the start and lasts throughout the season, followed by Josh Gordon , who never touches a container of anything for the rest of his life. " I am the most miserable QB to be 8-0.". That's where that season ended. The All Time Greatest Team Leading Quarterback let the team mentally down, all thee phases and the coaching as well. Larry Bird, never. Bobby Orr, never. Brady gave up before 2019 even started.

No I hear you . I am not saying change it because we don't know how the there option might turn out. And a ring is supreme compared to all off-season adventures.

Juat like how we talked about butterfly effect having positive outcome , this was just an example of how one draft pick led to more stumbles . Maybe if Mac turns out to be our franchise QB this butterfly effect from Harry had it's positive spin.

I thoroughly enjoyed the last 4 super bowl wins .

As for the future I am enjoying the rebuild . Let's see how it goes . Just like stock market vagaries , draft also opens up tons of questions in hindsight. Drafting Harry will always remain that ? Not because it was unpopular at that time but because that draft had so many superstar receivers and wr drafting luck deserted us that year as well.

We're starting to see a theme. Brady just doesn't cut it with you does he?

I'll admit, I didn't care for Chubb, but many posters on here were calling for Chubb the day Michel was picked.

He was an All-Pro in 2005 and 2006. The narrative that Brady wasn't great before 2007 is very strange.
People also don't want to remember that he was fantastic in 2004. I think that was his best all around season prior to 2007.

Kraft kinda throws Belichick under the bus for the offensive woes on Fox Business.

You guys do what you want but this place sucks when you guys start with insulting each other because you disagree on a topic. I'm surprised Ian let's it go as far as he does but his board and he can run it the way he wants, I'm going to have a nice dinner with my wife and sign off. see you guys tomorrow before the Super Bowl.

What are you having?

Agree , but you need to keep one thing in mind
If you post something and some posters disagree with they always react very aggressively which makes some interactions very annoying, don’t really want to respond in these moments , it’s not very nice and if this would be stopped then people may „insult“ each other less
