Inside the most dysfunctional Pats season under BB

Tells me the guy is not a Pats fans at all, otherwise it'd be "us". It's always him, talking down to us because he thinks he is the smartest one on the forum.
Maybe he's a Jets fan that's a Patriots season ticket holder (which means he's been one for probably >20 years) just to troll the forum.

"He knows how to build a great offense"

Sounds to me like BOB is gonna help pick the groceries instead of just Bill. I'm ok with that.

Well, yeah, I would figure that the OC would have input on the drafting of offensive players but I don't get that from Kraft's statement.

Then I don't want to hear any more complaints from Bobby then. This is what you wanted.

Malcolm Butler said:
“The offense wasn’t just as crispy as it once was. Like, it was a lot of in-cuts, speed routes, but when I returned last year, it was just so predictable. The plays were so predictable...It was like they always tried to go deep downfield. It was just so predictable. They’d get in trips, I know what they’re going to run. Or shotgun, they’re not (running). It’s pass first.

There was balance when Brady was there and I was there. It was run the ball, pass the ball, dink and dunk. (This) was like they were trying to stretch the defense every play. It wasn’t the same.
Even Butler saw that all wasn't well with the offensive playcalling. And this was allowed to go forward into the season. Unreal.

I'm convinced Patricia could whisper in Bill's ear: "let me bang Linda," and Bill would acquiesce.

It's never been "Just Bill". Not at all. It was **** Rehbein who picked Brady. It was McDaniels who's voice carried the weight for the Chad Jackson, Laurence Maroney, Sony Michel, and N'Keal Harry picks... Amongst others...

The Sony Michel pick was great as it was a big reason why they won a Super Bowl that year.

It's ok but not a home run pick. The more I think we could have had any RB to run through the Offensive line we had .

Rham >>>>>> Harris >> Michel.
So you would have rather had another player and potentially not having one of the 6 titles?

Sony made the most out of his opportunities, but his production is widely overrated. In fact, even PFF has stated this of all sites. Along with the O-line, they had two excellent blocking TE's and a road grading FB. With that being said, White wouldn't have been able to consistently run through that as he was a terrible inside runner. Jeremy Hill was the starting back and I believe he would've had a good year. Who else they would've drafted had they not taken Sony, we'll never know.

Nick.

Chubb.

You're welcome.

Would they have taken him though?

They should have... I mean the two of them were standing right next to each other throughout the 2017 season & the '18 draft process... How the **** could the Littles Billy & Nicky have chosen the Wrong one like that? Just like choosing Kneal Harry instead of AJ/Deebo... Or Jacoby Brissett instead of Dak Prescott...

That is just a bizarre take to me. Everything the Patriots did that year directly and/or indirectly worked out to lead our team to the ultimate prize and yet here people are complaining about the style points of how we got there. I really can't take these kinds of complaints against BB and the staff seriously; it is just incomprehensible. Hindsight is 20/20 and if you do that for decisions that you didn't like I sure hope you don't take for granted the decisions BB and his staff get right and heap on the praise ALL those times (there are a lot of things they got right).

Taking Sony was more forgivable than Harry or Brissett. Seahawks took Rashad Penny 9 picks ahead of the Pats. How do you think they feel? While Harry was projected to be a late 1st rounder, he had no business leapfrogging AJ Brown, Metcalf and Samuel. I'm not the biggest fan of Prescott, but lots of teams slept on him.

What I find interesting is that posters will dog other franchises for making moves to "win now", but come to the Pats defense if they indirectly win a title with bad drafting - ignoring future ramifications. Bad drafting always leads to a team's demise and that ultimately ended the Pats dynasty. Had the Pats drafted say Chubb and either Metcalf, Samuel or Brown one year later, Brady retires a Patriot.

Although there were a handful of offensive players in the mix up front, several wide receivers brought up the rear.

Can't actually blame Patricia for calling them out then. Running sprints, the WRs should be up front of the pack. Speaks to a motivational issue, or perhaps a passive-aggressive clash with their coach.
