Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I'm torn on who to root for out of the 49ers and Cowgirls! Them I hate the Cowgirls and can take or leave the 9ers! On one hand I want the 49ers to curb stomp Dallas and for Purdy to crap the bed in another NFCCG loss for San Francisco! I know it's a long shot but I'll love to see Brady close out his career there! Miami is also very interesting but just thinking about Brady there makes me want to vomit
Seeing Brady in anything but a Pats uniform makes me want to puke. He should have retired here.

Pretty funny chart really and feels like it has been like this all season. Not only can the guys not get open, but really this speaks to how predictable the offense is as a whole. The defense is in position because they know what's coming. Too bad the TB defense is also at the bottom of this thing.

Pickings for Tom are slim. In 2020, there were 4-5 teams that were fairly loaded waiting for a good QB (including the Saints, who thought Brees was gone.). IMO, best options are:

1. SF (but they might not want him)
This is what Brady always wanted and it's a really nice bookend to his career. Would be happy for him but I agree they might not want him now.
Really don't want him to go there for obvious reasons.
3. New England
As awesome as that would be and would immediately make the Patriots a contender in the division and probably higher than that- it's extremely unlikely IMO unless it's a one day contract to...
4. Retire
I think there's a decent chance he will.

5. Tampa Bay (won’t be good for his legacy)
Still think this is the best spot for him. Wouldn't rule it out. He loves it there and it's easy to cheer for him to do well there. Team was not close to healthy this year but they will be healthy next season.
6. Las Vegas (will be worse for his legacy)
I'm sure they'll push hard for him at least.

Florio believes Carolina might make sense too.

Do you have a link to the Carolina talk

Florio speculation and nothing more. I'm wondering if the board prefers he retires or plays for the Bucs? I get the feeling that most here are on board with LV even though I think that's a disaster.

I'd like to see him in SF but I don't think there's a good chance that will happen now. I still think Tampa is the best place for him if he continues playing.

Even if Purdy or whatever his name is throws 4 INTS next weekend I suspect they won't get Tom. If they didn't the last time they won't now and I think Miami is a non starter so that leaves him almost no good options.

Carolina would be the dumbest idea. They are in full rebuild mode.

To win 8 games a year at best?

True lmao I want him in Vegas Adams would be the best WR he’s been with since Moss

Also I was checking the cap again by releasing Carr and reconstructing Crosby, Jones, Miller, Renfrow, and Waller they’d be at 98.6 million available in cap space. Plenty to get Gronk, Brady and fix that defense

“fix that defense” sounds easy but with who?

They need more than just the defense .
Their Oline is trash too

So obviously Brady needs to take time to think through what he wants to do. But who does he even need to talk to regarding that? Doesn’t need to worry about the work/family balance with the wife anymore!

Brady will be 46 and needs the best protection and WRs money can buy, plus good coaches so that he doesn't have to carry the offense (he can't anymore unless he has all the ingredients).

That's why it's Vegas.

If defense is so bad. That just means no SB. But at least Brady will look good on O and go down swinging. Not the whimper it was with Tampa.

Florio just throws crap out. He’s occasionally correct but I just don’t trust any of his own theories. Darlington/Shefter/Rapaport/ even Jay Glazer know more about actual Brady news.

I think there's something to be said for this. I'm sure Brady still believes he can play at a high level and wants to prove it. Obviously he wants to win another Super Bowl but I also think he would take on a situation that is purely advantageous to his quarterbacking performance. He may understanding LVR doesn't have a championship defense but he'll bank on his ability to make up the difference with a great offense.
