We're on to the OFF-Season

I just find it funny that apparently people were willing to give Bill more credit in his ability to judge whether Brady could still provide top tier QB play after 2019 than in his ability to judge whether Mac Jones is a QB you can win anything with in this league.

Not sure why you'd find that funny after he got the Brady call so very wrong.

I get that he got a raw deal this year but still possible to evaluate him with those limitations in mind. Ball velocity, decision making, pocket awareness and movement, leadership, ability to run comeback drives in the 4th - all things he is lacking in.

Any of those limitations were there last year.

Brady was under contract in 2019, so any extension would have taken into account an evaluation of his post 2019 performance, no matter if the contract was signed after the 2018 season, before the 2019 season, after the 2019 season or in 1995.
Right and Bill didn't feel the need to even think about a 45 year old Brady while he was still under contract. Brady held it against him for not locking him up early. It had nothing to do with how Bill thought Brady could play in 2020.

No major changes we will be the Bills red headed step brother for as long as Allen is the QB.

I’m terrified Robert is going to let Patricia keep power.
"power" means little in a Belichick team. Belichick has all the power.

We need X's and O's coaching. We need oversight and intervention from the boss WHEN HE DOESN'T AGREE WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING.

If we get a good, experienced OL coach, and a good assistant, we can have a fine year. However, Belichick needs to have Patricia let the line coach do his job, and allow Brown to move back to RT when the new LT is ready, hopefully for Game One.
=======================================
I do favor bringing in an OC and moving Patricia out. This will likely help the QB a lot.

However, for me, the OL coaching is much more important. We had a below average LT and a much better than average RT. We traded that situation for a below average LT and an awful RT. In addition, the backups were borderline hopeless (Herron and Cajuste).

As far as OC, I would simply want an OC who best could run a Josh offense.

Bill wouldn't allow an OC with power to completely change the offense, and the power to follow through.

I don’t like we haven’t even heard a whisper regarding the offensive staff.
The whole league is behind schedule. The Panthers were interviewing OC candidates already this time last year, and we don’t even know of any OC interview requests yet.

All I want is an OC who actually can coach offense. Not a DC in that roll because of Bills arrogance that anyone can do it...

Felger said Kraft and Bill met. Sounds like they will keep Matty P but he's out as OC. I don't see it anywhere else yet though.

We have the 4th-most cap space (more than $50m more than Miami and Buffalo), very little dead money and haven't stolen from out years like many teams have with voidable contracts. Plus an unusually good haul to come in this draft - number 14 is their highest pick in a decade, and they are projected to have 11 picks altogether (including compensatory picks in the 4th, 5th and 7th rounds). So with 6 picks in the first four rounds they plenty of ammunition to move up if needed.
Belichick noted we've had the among the lowest total payouts over the last three years.
So now the Pats are actually finally in a good position roster-wise - we sold out some in the last years of Brady when we traded for some players at the expense of draft picks which hurts in terms of salary. And the bad picks (Harry etc,) are now mostly off the team and behind us.

I hope this eases peoples minds. Especially the people who thought Bill would refuse to move on from Patricia and that would be the final straw that pushes Bill out. Here are two important quotes from the article

“One important facet of the meeting: Did Belichick need persuading to change course on offense or did he go in knowing changes were necessary? My understanding is that no persuading on the part of Kraft was necessary.”

“But my understanding is offensive coaching reassignments are going to happen and several offensive coaches are under consideration for the Patriots' 2023 staff.”

I'll believe the changes when I see them (which won't be for a while).

I hope this is true. I am also curious who other than the krafts and BB were at the meeting which turned out to be curran's source?
.
Because if no changes happened, it can be shown as a change of heart from BB as well.

Pretty sure Kraft is Curran’s source.
