Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Have you guys noticed how peaceful the subforum has been the last two weeks? No more trolling threads started? It's like a breath of fresh air.

When the Pats miss the playoffs it’s gonna get bad again.

Agreed. He's driven by an irrational hatred of Brady. To a bizarre extent. I think he's gotten close to banishment on the main forum for incessantly injecting Brady into entirely unrelated topics.

I PM'd him once after we both got booted from a thread. I politely asked him where he's from and gave him my information. He immediately started doxing me on the main forum with my real first name and where I lived, as if I would even hide that info. It was really odd.

I don't put anyone on ignore. I'll still reply to his posts but there's no point in discussing anything Brady with him. I generally don't agree with banning members, in part because I've been unfairly booted from threads, but he was begging for it here.

On the main forum. The IBWTers and Mac apologists are going to be hypersensitive. Anything "too negative" of either will be labeled trolling. In addition there will be actual trolling. The problem there is the mods can't always tell the difference. I think Ian is preparing for the worst with the new "big change" coming to the site. We'll see what that looks like.

Vegas smells a rat, there are way too many signs that everyone expects the Bucs to not actually try and win this game.

If Brady starts then he'll want the game to end with a W. He hasn't had a losing season in his career and I'm certain it's important to him to keep that intact. The starters will play until the victory is secure. Bowles is a loser but he doesn't want an 8-9 record either. Atlanta sucks so this shouldn't be that difficult.

Brady just need 262 yards to pass Testaverde for 2nd most passing yards for Bucs. Crazy that it would only be 3 seasons to accomplish that.

I hope you’re right. I really don’t want to see Brady finish at 8-9 given they’re playing lousy Atlanta.

it really goes to show you just how pathetic the bucs were as a franchise before Brady showed up. That is why I find it so amusing when people say he went to a super team. the bucs were and are the polar opposite of a super team and Brady turned that all around, bringing the competitive fire and winning culture to the losingest franchise in NFL history.

Over at Pewterreport, they want a guy named Tod Monken to be OC. I think with a better OC the Bucs still might be the best place for Brady to play next season.

"While calling the plays, the Bulldogs are 36-3 under Monken since his arrival in 2020. That includes a national championship in 2021 and an SEC championship this season, as well as a chance to defend Georgia’s national title against TCU on Monday night."

And

"So, Monken knew he had to run the ball in the SEC. But he opened up the offense by incorporating more passing on first downs (sound enticing?) and more play-action (sound good, Tom Brady?) to

“Believe me, when I’m thinking gameplan-wise, I’m thinking about how we can be explosive — and how we can run the ball and help us be explosive all fits together,” Monken was quoted in The Athletic. “You can’t control the game if you can’t run the ball comfortably. You can’t. You can’t control the game. You can have a bunch of statistics and make it look better and make you feel better. But if you can’t run the ball comfortably you can’t win the game. And that’s from a guy that likes to throw it. My whole background is wideouts and quarterbacks. So I do want to throw it, I enjoy throwing it.”

This year, Georgia’s offense ranks seventh nationally in yards per play after finishing fourth last year. That’s up from 46th in 2019 before Monken arrived.

Yes and it's crazy how some Bucs fans want to tear down the team and rebuild when most of their stars are signed for at least 1 more year and still close to the top of their game. They have at least 1 more year of being competitive with the group they have with a better OC.

The thing with rebuilds is that sometimes it takes longer than a couple years cause if it doesn't work out, you have to start over, then over again. Next thing you know, the team has been bad or mediocre for a very long time.

Nobody's ever proven that sitting out that last game results in more winning during the playoffs.
I don't think I have ever seen it work. Used to kills the Colts every year during the Manning years.

Brady should stay the f.uck away from Vegas.

Only if Miami can take him otherwise it’s a good spot great offense that can make there defense above average through the draft and free agents

Unless Vegas trades for Aaron Donald, Ahmad Gardner and Micah Parsons this offseason... they're a terrible option. McDaniels is a good OC but woeful as a HC.

If you think coaching, including the head coaching, is the problem with the Raiders, you need to go back to analyst school.

There’s no magic fix for that defense in one offseason. And I’m not particularly interested in Brady putting up Mathew Stafford on the Lions stats as he goes 7-10.

They made the playoffs last year despite Gruden getting fired a month into the season (and other dramatic events throughout their year), and with an inferior roster relative to this year. In that playoff game, they were 10 yards away at the end from scoring a TD to take the Bengals to overtime.

If it’s Vegas or literally nothing then fine. But it wouldn’t be my first choice for him.

I'm not sure how you're getting this notion about last year being an inferior roster to any extent worth noting. I get the addition of Adams. But, they had better RB depth last year. Renfrow didn't miss any games last year. Waller missed fewer games last year. They had Ruggs at least as a deep threat for 7 games last year. And that's before we get to the elephant in the room, which is Carr choking away the games this year.

If you want to see why the offense didn't fare as well this year as last, start with the QB, who's game play dropped off precipitously, despite getting Adams (who must be your basis for the "inferior" comment), being sacked far less often, and despite Jacobs having a better season than he did last year.

Something like the last 3 Raiders first round picks are either dead or in jail. It’s crazy
