Curran Believes Jones is 'Making an Enemy' Out of Belichick

Something is rotting in that locker room. We seem to be venturing into 09 territory and a loss tomorrow the players could pretty much check out. Bourne who was thought to be one of the "Team Mac" guys is liking anti-Mac tweets and has been apparently in the dog house most of the season. Trent Brown is seemingly welcoming the idea of Jimmy or Brady coming back. Wynn has seemed to have been a malcontent all year and now has basically gone MIA. Looks like we might already have a 2022 version of Moss, Adaius Thomas, and Shawn Springs.

Funny. The 2 guys making news in the last wk for their poor social media contributions are 2 guys that haven’t lived up to a damn thing this year. Neither are leaders, and both haven’t performed to expectations. **** ‘em. Send them packing.
Get used to it. When was the last time you saw a Pats player openly mocking the GM on SM for not doing anything during FAcy? Jules said about 3 years ago that these young players are different. Every year that goes by the differences, between a 70+ yo coach that is technologically challenged and the younger generation players, gets magnified. Bill has lost the room. It was inevitable.

Cmon guys, we knew once Brady left there would be a transition period of 3-4 years. You guys are ready to blow it up for one bad year, that's a spoiled fanbase. I don't want MP back next year as OC but lets give Bill some time to get things back on track. The former players voicing their opinion is just noise and I don't give them any weight, even tubby Wilfork.

It isn't one bad year that bothers me right now. It's that Belichick would put such a crucial year for this offense in the hands of two guys with no experience running offenses and then give Patricia the two toughest jobs to handle on his own. Jones is in a critical second year where he really still needs direction and they say that free agent pick ups sometime don't pay back their value until the second year.

I have said this before that this is a type of move if it failed like it has would end any other head coach's career. Seriously, I cannot think of many other head coaches who could survive something like this.

I mean if Belichick brought in an experienced OC or offensive coach who had many years of experience and looked ready for the next step to OC and the team failed like this, I would think differently. But Belichick went with Patricia and Judge against Kraft's objections. It was hubris that got the Pats in this situation.

Where are you getting the "one bad year" argument from? It's been more than one bad year.

Mac is a whiner and not the qb of the future which is clear for everyone watching the games. Do you think the Coaches or scheme lead to mac only able to throw 5 yards to his right side before the ball hits the ground? He is so limited and needs perfect supporting cast and top 5 o line do be able to look slight above average

I agree but you might be a bit harsh. Mac can be highly accurate if he can maintain his footing and technique. McDaniels kept him on a tight lease but that approach failed when we went 1 - 5 down the stretch. Mac might be fixable with an offseason and training camp if he can ever move about the pocket while keeping his footing. I thought Mac being successful was guaranteed to start the season, now it looks like a long shot.

Technologically challenged? In order to understand and coach football it is better to have a lot of followers on Instagram? I think the 2022 draft class is very exciting, I guess they would be better if the coaching staff did more dancing on TikTok?

i wonder if they hadnt changed the offense too along with the OC if it wouldve been this bad.

I gotta admit I thought mac would have been a better year 2 as well after all the talk in the season from other guys like house bout how much work mac has put into training. I don’t know what they exactly trained but I immediately felt beginning from the first season game that not much has improved or at least I can’t see it
I wonder if they just bumped him up in the off-season or if some practice with Patricia lead to lose all that

No it would not have.

It hardly ever ends well for legendary coaches in any sport. BB and football are no different.
I don't remember seeing legendary coaches have bad endings to their careers. I see it more with players than coaches.

My sisters physical therapist worked for the Pats. He still has buddies and connections with the team.

He told my sister that behind the walls of Gillette the consensus is that Mac is a backup.
I have a friend who has a friend that knows a guy who works at the stadium, and a friend of his told the younger brother of a friend of mine that Matt Patricia is a horrible OC. I believe him.

"But Mac was a Pro Bowler last year"

Hopefully this knee jerk defense of Mac can be put to rest finally. Tyler Huntley will be a Pro Bowler this year once a couple of the top guys bow out due to injury or lack of interest.

The Pats would be better if they drafted better. It's really that simple. Right now there's only one pro bowl player on the team and he was picked up as a FA. I don't know how that can be described as drafting well the last few years, but it has been.

Using this as an argument pro mac is laughable
