Herbert is the guy everyone hopes you get in the 1st round. OROY and broke a bunch of rookie records. Got even better his second year. He just became 1st QB in NFL history to have 4000+ yards in his first 3 seasons. Stats are a bit down this season but he's making less mistakes. His 1st two seasons he had 6 4Q comebacks & 8 GWDs (4 & 5 this season). Kid is clutch. Like you said, Joe Lombardi is one of the worse OCs in the league.Justin Herbert has been without his starting LT, C and changing RT. Mike Williams and Allen out most of the year. Lombardi might be the guy who's worse than Patricia. He'll end the year close to 3/1 - 4K + - Not a spectacular year but he's making it work. And not only bc of his rocket arm or legs.
This has to be a parody account? This isn't real?
Watching Sean McVay tonight, that's obvious.
Now they apparently have big salary cap problems. No 1st round draft picks.
Watch him bail.
More experts on Jones’ pocket presence in 2021.
A year later, McShay believes Jones was arguably the best quarterback from his draft class in his rookie season. He still liked Jones’s pocket presence and movement in the pocket, as well as his ability to get rid of the ball quickly (Jones’s 2.71 seconds before throwing the ball was the ninth-best in the league, per McShay).
Draft expert shares what Mac Jones needs to improve on in Year 2
Mac Jones was arguably the best rookie quarterback last season, but still has areas to grow on in his game. Read more on Boston.com.www.boston.com
I think a point that is not really talk about is that I think Josh covered Mac limitations well and in my opinion made Mac look better than what he really is. Last year Josh was holding Mac hands and I think this year they expected Mac to play QB. After the first 3 games they saw that he couldn’t do it and started to hold his hands again after the Chicago game.Interesting stats!! Thanks.
I think for a rookie, coming in and starting, last year's numbers are good. (Just look at Trevor Lawrence and all the other rookie qb's) The issue most fans are having is they expected to see an improvement this year from Mac, which isn't happening. My question is how much of his "regression" do you think is because of Patricia, how much do you think is because of the injury depleted/poor performing O-Line and how much do you think is on the wr's?
Unfortunately i have to agree with this .Mac has not attempted to work to improve since training camp when they changed the offense and has been loud about his dislike for the change and the OC. As much as he said he will get it fixed he hasnt. His attitude of gesturing towards the sideline or waving the coaching staff away in the raider game really shows poor attitude. And you are right about zappe. he isnt better than mac but tries to execute what is called within his own limitationsI think a point that is not really talk about is that I think Josh covered Mac limitations well and in my opinion made Mac look better than what he really is. I don’t think it’s a regression, it’s just that the coaching staff is not able to hide his weaknesses.
I also think that Mac attitude is questionable.
I honestly think that with Matt Patricia as an OC the best QB for this team was Zappe. Not because I think Zappe is the next Drew Brees or that he is better than Mac skill wise but because I think that Zappe works better with Matt Patricia than Mac. And I think it showed during games. The games were the offense looked the more « patriot like » and functional were the two games Zappe started.

Yes, because 4-10 record with more talent than the Patriots screams great coach. If McVay bails outta LA, then the Krafts should fly that bird of theirs straight to his house and hand him a blank check with their names on it.
That's what I don't get. Nobody is talking about all the receivers that he didn't throw to but the ones he actually did throw to. It's just more noise from the Mac excusers. Hell, there were guys wide open he ignored but Bedard who's had an agenda since TC only focuses on those plays that suit his narrative. What does he say about the throw to Rham in the flat when there was a wide open receiver downfield? Was that guy running a poor route too? That's a game winning TD right there.
The guys that put together these stats have no hidden agendas like Bedard. Mac was worse than McSorley in CPOE. Who TF is McSorley?
This is a coaching issue. They need to fire Fat Matt and Joe Judge and let the piece fall where it does. Atleast show that this is not acceptable when starting for next year.

implying Mcvay isn’t a great coach is hilarious…also the talent on the rams isn’t as great as you think. Is this a coping mechanism for a bill defense? He’s 79-88 if Brady doesn’t start games for him…doesn’t scream great coach to me! See how backwards this logic is?Yes, because 4-10 record with more talent than the Patriots screams great coach.
That dude has veen dying on the "McVay is a bad coach" hill all alone. He's an idiot.implying Mcvay isn’t a great coach is hilarious…also the talent on the rams isn’t as great as you think. So basically what I'm getting so far from reading this thread (and the defense of the play calls that bedard is listing) at is all the playcalling and route running is fine. And it's all Mac Jones? And if we replaced Mac Jones then Patricias genius will really shine.
Some of you zappe guys really need to get a grip with this narrative you are peddling. It's based in delusion.
It's OK to give some of the blame to the coaching. Defending Patricias playcalling isn't the hill I would die on.
100% agree with you thereDon't know of too many "Zappy guys" here who would seriously claim that Phatt Matt's "genius" would really shine if he were QB.
What I can claim is that Billy should've never Ever EVER started Corky vs da Bears.
I mean.
I think that reaction shows there might be a problem in the locker room. Don’t know if it’s the coaches or Mac or anyone else. Bill needs to be on that and flush that out after the season ends like he did in 2009.
I think this team is approaching 2009 unlikeability…
Clearly Mac's fault. It's his job to get everyone on the same page. I assume a play was called in the huddle, he changes it at the line but several of his players are confused with what he wants. Again, how is this on the coaches? Are we to believe that Mac has to be taught how to change plays?Whose fault is that? At a certain point the quarterback has got to take charge there and get the right play called (either the one from the morons on the sideline or an audible).
All are true. The coaching sucks, the pass pro has been spotty (limiting how creative the offense can get), Mac has not been good, and the receiving corps is not performing up to their pay grade.Clearly Mac's fault. Look, the coaching hasn't been ideal. Mac has played poorly this season. Both can be true.
