I remember when the Pats were garbage because they lost to the Justin Fields-led Bears, and they'd NEVER catch up to the very good playoff-caliber New York Jets.

Then they beat the Jets twice.

Now the Jets are losing to those same Bears, who don't even have Fields.

They'll NEVER complete with the very good Super Bowl contender Buffalo Bills, though.

Yeah I can't say they aren't a really good team. Mike McDaniel is doing some good stuff. Obviously Tyreek Hill is paying big dividends, though the shelf life on that roster construction is short when Tua and Waddle are both on rookie deals.

It's interesting to see how backup QBs have success in this league going to short routes and "matriculating" the ball downfield, while studs like Josh Allen look to go downfield exclusively and they struggle because they give up the short game. Zach Wilson has his eyes trained downfield, so does Justin Fields. Meanwhile Mike White and Trevor Siemian are completing short passes.
