Agreed. But they go spread and attack Myles Bryant with someone else.

He and Tavai can’t cover well.

If they want to spread out and test Bryant with KJ Osborn and his 8.8 yards per catch, or Jalen Reagor and his 4 catches in 10 games, instead of throwing to Jefferson, Thielen, Hockenson, or Cook? I say go for it. They're not moving the ball consistently picking on guys that aren't covering their top receivers.

Our running game has been below average for a month.

We aren't even close to that BAL team
Right now Stevenson and Harris have better YPC than Jamal Lewis and Priest Holmes.

Point is that the Pats can use the run game to control the clock and keep the ball away from an explosive offenses like Parcells did to Jim Kelly and the Bills. Ive been saying that this Pats team is a throw back to the Tuna Giant teams that just played old fashioned football.

Its not unreasonable to assume a season total of 1500 NE rushing yards heading into the bad weather months. From the remaining 7 games, 4 are outdoors in the Northeast and I would hope that the Pats give Allen, Burrows and Tua as few opportunities to throw as possible. Passing is what all those teams are built for. Allen is the X factor because he loves to run.

I didn’t know anyone else knew that movie!
I tried to watch it once many years ago, gave up halfway through because it seemed half of the dialogue was the name Conor being shouted or sung :haha:

Vikings have lucked out on lots of close games and should be a 4-6 team.
They are opportunistic. I think they are third in plus turnovers. We’re more middle of the pack at a net zero.

I don’t think people have wrapped their heads around the fact that the Vikings are a good team. They’ve earned their 8-2 record. Beatable, yes. But in the NFL it never comes easy.

The Vikings offense scares me in that they have a lot of weapons, whether that's Jefferson or Thielein, but now they have Hockenson, and TEs always give our D trouble. Add a couple of dynamic backs, and this is a multifaceted varied offense.

Really worried about getting chopped up underneath where our linebackers are limited
Yeah, TEs like hockenson always give our D trouble. We looked pathetic trying to guard him earlier this year when he went off for 1 catch for 6 yards.

Outside of the Baltimore game where we were missing dugger, would you really say TEs have given us much trouble this year? I wouldn’t.

Dont like the timing of this matchup. Really wish iit were us playing them after their big win in buffalo. Oh well, we need to win in the trenches on both sides where they seem vulnerable. Just worried about the state of our OL and being able to do that. Rham and harris could feast on this d

They could indeed... If they had a professional, league-average OL in front of them...

What great TEs have we faced?

And read my post again, I said they have a diverse offense, one that can give you trouble at any level, whether it's running game, pass to the backs in the flat with Cook, at TE, or their multiple good receivers. If we try to take away their best weapon by doubling him, we have problems everywhere else.

Hockenson is the real deal. Don't go by how the Lions played us, they're horrible.

We did badly against Andrews, we gave up 100 yards + to the 2 Jets TEs Conklin and Uzomah, we gave up 80 to Njoku and the other Browns TE. We've done better against all WRs except Miami's in the other games than we have against TEs.

We have been pretty good against TEs and WRs. The defense has been great and is playing better as the year moves on. Lots of relatively new guys, Wilson, Peppers, Uche, McMillan, Jennings, Jack Jones, Marcus Jones, and even Mills is better in his 2nd year. They are all showing up and will improve as the season progresses. As the defense picks up steam, I think we can look forward to a great defense heading into the playoffs.

Those 2 games have something in common. Dugger didn't play. But go ahead and ignore that. How'd Conklin do this past Sunday?

gave up 80 to Njoku and the other Browns TE.

Half those yards came on 1 play in the 1st quarter. Also Dugger had a INT guarding a TE in that one

That's all well and good but in the last 5 games your running game is averaging as a team 3.4, 3.7, 3.7, 2.5 and 3.8ypc and with that oline you aren't controlling anything from now till January.

That's the reality.

The Pats running game is the least of my concerns and the strength of the offense.

The OL must be run blocking somebody because Stevenson has averaged 4.5 YPC and Harris 4.6 YPC. Harris is hitting the hole faster than every NFL RB except AJ Dillion. Just imagine what would happen of the Pats OL actually blocked for these RBs? 10 YPC would not be out of the question. Good thing we got Mac to win these games for us.

Stevenson and Harris have shown no signs of slowing down and the Pats have not burned them out with a high carry totals like the Titans do with Derrick Henry. The Pats switch to the SF style zone run blocking is paying off.

Look at the last 5 games. Rham is ave 3.5ypc

Tomorrow's game is one of those season-defining games.
Totally agree . So far outside of jets all wins are against bottom cellar dwellers . Jets had Zach Wilson in our favor. Now we get to the moderately better QBs

Cousins, Allen, Burrow, Murray, Carr, Tua and Allen. All of them are in top 15 QBs .

Yes offensive line is in disarray, coaching is in works . Mac would need to come out of shell and show he can also elevate the team around him . Make the offensive line yearn to work for him . Get the belief going . If the team starts to believe they can have a crack at the Superbowl , I think we can be the 2007 giants .

Do the bend but don't break offense . Limit turnovers, we win
