For me there is still plenty of upside with Mac. He just needs to cut out the brain fart INTs (and nearly INTs). Are these his fault? Is it the play calling? Is it the receivers? Is it a mix of all three? Either way I still think he can be a decent NFL QB if given NFL level coaching.
I'm watching Hoyer highlights and even think he's got more zip than Mac. Thornton's preseason TD was from Hoyer, and once he comes back, they'll pick up where they left off.

Weird how a McDaniels led offense went 20 games without a WR over 100 yards and a Patricia offense got that in 2/3 games. Just saying maybe there is hope for Thornton that this is a more friendly WR offense than it had been with McDaniels.
Also please get Stevenson 20-25 touches a game. This guy is getting ready to breakout just needs the touches.

Either way, he has two years left here. If the team isn’t turned around in two years, the Krafts thank him for his service. If he turns it around in two years, he retires. He’s already over 70.
