Separation numbers for this guy have been atrocious:

2.3yds
2.3
2.5
2.1 (2019)
1.7
1.7

I don't know how anyone would think this guy is close to a #1. Sure he had that one good year. Catch% over 60% (61 and 64) for 2 out of his 7 years. Injury history is insanely long.

All that being said, Ja'marr's separation last year was 2.3yds, so like with so many stats, one has to look at the bigger picture. Hopefully, he's not like the last guy we got in a trade from Miami (Isaiah Ford) who did nothing for us. Based on how excited everyone seems to be about this trade, I'll ride the wave and be optimistic.
I'm a little less optimistic today. We'll see how it goes.

It's quite obvious DeVante is intelligent when he considered the alternative WR numbers. I think one of the worse is #17.
Winding up with number 1 might be the problem lol get him the 11s back.

He will come good. Mac has to throw him better balls.

I am not impressed from what seen from Parker. I hope we see him improving soon because he is supposed to be our star receiver but it seems right now he is falling behind both Myers and Agholor and to some extent Bourne who has barely played.

Miami got rid of him. They have real stars waddle and hill while poor Mac has to settle for leftovers

If both Parker and Bourne could step up, this offense could be dangerous. I'm not sure if it's Matt's playcalling or Mac (GULP) regressing, but Mac's rapport with Hunter has dried up as of late. Hopefully this is rectifiable.

"Dangerous" ?
Seriously?
If Gunner didn't cough up the ball at his own 10, the potentially "dangerous" NE offense was likely on its way to amassing 10 pts for the game and 17 points combined in two games

Scorecard
0 catches for Parker, Henry, Smith

Is this known as "under the radar sneaky dangerous"?

All I know is Fatt Matt should be sending Gunner a nice gift basket to reciprocate for his 2nd half generosity.
If that gift fumble didn't happen, this board would be lighting up Fat Matt for the offense's impotency and eviscerating QB coach Judge for the Mac Jones year 2 regression. And daggers would be out for Corky

Parker has always been a solid NFL receiver. He's not a star, and it was a mistake for anyone to think of him as a star. But he is solid. The Pats got him for very little and he's a huge improvement on Harry.

Look, Mac threw for 252 yards yesterday. That's a pace for 4,284 on a 17-game season, which would have ranked him 9th in the NFL last year. So it's not all-world, but it's really good. It doesn't matter WHO gets those yards. If Parker has a huge year, we're all saying how awesome BB is for getting him, but then that also means that someone else that BB acquired is NOT getting those yards. And then we're killing BB for drafting a bust or signing a schlep to a big FA contract or.....whatever.

Parker is fine. He's not a pro bowler. He's solid. But I agree with @TheRazorsEdge - of course they need to continually try to upgrade the WR position (just like all positions).

There's a reason Miami was ok trading him in the division. He is an improvement over Harry no doubt but hardly what most of us expected.

In short, our search for WRs should not stop at Thorton.
Not going to give up on the guy now, but yeah it definitely was an indicator on how they feel about him trading him in division.

Disappointed to be sure. Especially because he is losing the jump balls that were supposed to be his MO. I can live with him not getting high volume, if he provides enough of a threat on those 50/50 balls, especially for the red zone. But so far, that's resulted in both of Mac's interceptions (not that Mac is blameless of course).

The thing that gives me some hope is that there are plays where it's clear they're not quite in sync with their timing, like the attempted back shoulder throw (that was impeded by a bit of a hold, but nothing I really want called in the NFL). If that half second timing is sured up, things could start clicking.

But to this point, it's been rough.

Yawn, why don't you go root for the Bills

It's only been two games, let's give him a chance.
Earworm! :haha:

I think Parker's target stats are suffering to some extent because Mac keeps throwing it to him when it's not even a good idea. Part of that is he's at least sometimes drawing the opposition's best coverage players.

So far, not so good. However, he will have some big games, Its just a matter of time.

Parker is the deep threat on a team that cant throw deep.

On the endzone INT in Miami, throw the ball higher and further so Parker is the only guy who can put a hand on it. The Agahlor TD pass was erringly similar to the Parker INT.

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker was held in check with zero catches on two targets in a Week 2 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's been a disappointing start to the season for Parker, who was brought in via trade by the Patriots early this past offseason. Although he has been playing on the majority of snaps, he simply has not been receiving targets from quarterback Mac Jones. Jakobi Meyers has been the team's clear WR1 through two weeks and Nelson Agholor has seen seven more targets than Parker so far this season. Until he proves to have a role in New England's offense, he will not be on the fantasy radar and can be left on the waiver wire.--Jorden Hill - RotoBaller

They haven't successfully thrown deep this year but I think they eventually will. Mac has left it short several times now, but it's not because he physically can't throw it deeper, it's like he's afraid of overthrowing the receiver. He's got the weapons, he's gotta lead them more and let them go get it.

Yes, he's tried to force it to him when doubled and other guys are open.

What Patricia should do is get Mac and Parker in a room with film of that 2019 Phins-Pats game when Fitzpatrick and Parker carved up Gilmore all game. Invite Fitzpatrick, maybe he'll come too. Figure out how to recreate that, cause it was unstoppable and was mostly 15 yard passes.
