Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

More like playing 'til 55 to satisfy child support and alimony payments.
Except Giselle is the one who makes more money.

Maybe that is why he is playing for half of other elite QBs :D

3-1 to start the year I think is a good bet.
You can look at it this way... from the start of last season the Bucs are down Godwin, Brown and Gronk. Their replacements are Julio, Gage and Brate (moving up the depth chart with only rookies behind him). Add in the changes to the o-line, which likely will be 4/5 different from the start of last season. Brady put up some big numbers in New Orleans last season but that was with Godwin going off. Their offense just looks entirely different without Godwin who's a first down machine. I think they're going to struggle moving the chains in this upcoming game. Right now, KC is a loss. I think they'll beat Green Bay as they've matched up well with them (and Green Bay has basically no WRs right now). I have them at 2-1 with the Saints game being a toss up. The schedule gets more favorable after week 4.

Bucs defense held Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb to just two catches on 11 targets in Sunday's game. To have an NFL player have 10+ targets and two or fewer catches in a game happened just once in all of 2021: Rob Gronkowski in the 9-0 loss to Saints, also 2 of 11.

Oddly enough, before Sunday, the last three times an NFL player had 10+ targets and two catches or fewer, they were all Bucs in losses: Gronk last year (2/11), Chris Godwin (1/10) vs. Saints in 2018, Mike Evans (1/10) vs. Panthers in 2018.

Dallas got yardage late to make it look better, but with three minutes left in third quarter Sunday, down 19-3, Prescott was 7-for-18 for 57 yards for the game. He and Cooper Rush threw for 141 in last 18 minutes to account for half of Cowboys' 244 yards of total offense.

Bucs offensive line basically had four new starters for much of Sunday's game, and committed one penalty in 62 offensive snaps. By comparison, Cowboys right tackle Terence Steele had four flags, three in a span of five plays (two false starts and a hold) in second half.

Y'all remember Parsons complaining about Fournette taking him out. Well...

This was Micah Parsons in response to Tom Brady asking about low hits on receivers after Godwin’s injury nine months ago:

Dallas went 1-for-13 on third downs after their first two conversions, so there's lots to share for Bucs defense. Third-and-5 in fourth, Bucs again put David on the line, but he drops and they blitz White, who drops Rush for his second sack.

Bucs don't have a fullback, but used other players Sunday in a variety of looks as a second back -- Ko Kieft like a traditional fullback, Rachaad White offset as a second back, and Kieft and Cam Brate in the move h-back looks they've used in the past.

Dallas will be saved by their pathetically easy schedule. Tampa Bay at worst would be 15-2 with their schedule.

Saints struggled vs Atlanta why are we acting like Sean Peyton is there. Tampa defense is legit now with healthy players and Winfield playing in the slot and bending SMB, Jemeis looked bad vs 90% of the game and there line looked average it best. Tampa will get to Jameis and he’ll turn it over as usual Atlanta dropped a couple picks also Kamara isn’t being used as a weapon before as a pass catcher

The Saints get to play defense too. 9-0 literally just happened the last time these two played so I'm not assuming anything.

Bucs have to prove they can beat the Saints. They won with Taysom Hill last time

Don't take this game too lightly.

The Saints were 5-2 when Winston started last season. Their defense has been able to dominate the Bucs offense, particularly at the line. The Bucs only managed one TD last week.

Bucs have swapped out tight ends on their practice squad, releasing rookie J.J. Howland and signing former San Diego State tight end David Wells. He's 27, spent time with Cowboys, Chiefs, Patriots, Falcons, Colts, Cardinals and Titans over last five seasons.

New Bucs practice squad tight end David Wells played in three games with Cardinals last year. Actually started one game, but played a total of 12 snaps on offense, one on special teams, no targets/catches.

You don’t have to go through a tough playoff defense to win MVP. You just have to have a bunch of hopelessly partisan fat people vote for you. It’s a Legacy Media award. It is a notable achievement only in your mind.
Ditto for the HOF
