Did we get any word on the mystery lineman?

Does the fact that neither Montgomery nor Thornton were placed on IR mean they’ll be healthier sooner rather than later?

I believe they can participate in meetings and such while on IR, but is there any other benefits to waiting?

There's not necessarily a need/reason to make the roster moves right at this instant. I'd also add that if/when they do place players on IR, they won't necessarily make a corresponding move to fill the spot(s) at the same time. Sometimes teams, especially this one, like to give opponents as little time to prep as possible.

New signing: He has the versatility that BB loves:

*Yawns* once the most versatile player in the country but can't stick on a NFL squad color me not impressed. I get it he seems like a typical sucky Patriots Third Rounder *too many to list* I see why they signed him.

So we are rolling with one Interior Back-up Rookie Guard Chasen Hines interesting hope we never get to him.

Tough crowd here, lol.... Some stats for you:

He was a third-round pick by the Raiders in 2020, but they traded him to Miami during roster cuts but he still managed 28 catches for 211 yards. He spent all of last year on IR.

So the Bengals had the choice, Devin Asiasi or OJ Howard. Who did they pick? This board loves Howard. Almost everyone had Humphery on their 53. Ooops!!! Most had Ray over Roberts - Ooops!!!

It happens every year - the Boston sports reporters have no idea what they are looking at. Players look good in preseason against backups. PatsFans make the same mistakes as sure as the sun rises.
Wrong. OJ Howard is a vested veteran. He doesn't have to clear waivers. Even if he did, why would they take on the 3.5M Sal Cap hit?

I going out on a limb and say Trot Nixon and Lil'Jordan Humphre are better.

Better as an active player, I'd agree.

But as a scout team addition, perhaps playing the role of a Lamar Jackson-type QB or a Tyreek Hill-type WR? I can see a role there.

Bill has always liked a few PS players who really seem to just have a practice preparation role.
