You are wasting your time..
lol c'mon now. You must be the first person I've seen who has attempted to give a player credit over the guy who was literally the architecture of those teams and oversaw the entire squad.
He was a solid little QB for us, though. No argument there.
I think we're being catfished. What's your other screen name?.

The Pats have banked enough good will with me over the last 20 years that I'm not real concerned about their record as much as I was before that.
You only have to look at the Buffalo Bills for your answer. After their 4 SBs I saw Buffalo fans just as passionate all the way up to their present resurgence. You make 4 Superbowls and a lot of good will comes out of that. Our perspective is understandably different having won 6Sure. How many non competitive, non Superbowl teams do they have to field before you say enough is enough?
Last year was a great step in the right direction, coming back down to 2020 play or worse is not gonna fly for most people. 3/4 years is more than enough time for your rebuild to be in a Superbowl level situation imo. NFL is league where you can go from last to first and no one bats an eye.

We are spoiled and may give up easier because we demand more after that.. Of course its been a long time and new generation of Bills fans have come around including the expected bandwagon ones but in my experience I haven't seen it duplicated anywhere else.
You could make the argument that Brady would have won MORE Superbowls (in NE) if BB had paid Branch, Seymour, Chandler Jones and maybe not benched Wes Welker and Malcolm Butler.

Just look at this forum. It used to be laugable to participate in the game day thread watching people lose their sht over a bad play or 2. Then reality returned and everything was okay until the next game day thread came. Now it's like half the forum is composed of game day thread style negativity in thread after thread. You're right. We demand more. We're spoiled. Its not going to change much until we get back to winning consistently I don't think.Who says that the fans are going to lose their passion for the Pats? Quite the contrary, their passion will lead to less and less tolerance for mediocre play.
I understand that the old heads saw a lot of bad football and because of that their perspective is different but the Patriots are not the doormat of the league anymore and anything less than a Superbowl is a failure. That's the kind of expectations you want from a franchise and one you want from those who run the franchise.
Your Bills comparison is odd because they did over and over what I was saying is bound to happen here if they continued down a path of mediocrity. They fired their coaches left and right because they couldn't figure it out.
Bill will never ever be fired. Nor should he. However he can't field a subpar team year in and out and just get away with it because he won 6 Superbowls. That would be franchise suicide.
Let me say it a bit more clearly. If the Patriots look and play as bad as they have in the preseason and camps and win 4 or 5 games, there's no way Matt Patricia returns next year. Zero. Which is a disaster to have Jones on 3 offensive coaches in 3 seasons.
Speaking as someone who's been tossed from many game day threads for daring to not be so optimistic in the fact of facts, I don't quite get it.Just look at this forum. Again have you known Tom E. Curran to not be a reliable source? He is nothing like what you are describing. He is actually a inside source.
Again there's enough reports out there to back up the situation, not for twitter clicks. I'm not talking about any sources from ESPN. Mike Reiss would be the only one from ESPN i would ever mention cuz he use to cover the pats locally and he is reliable as well. But anyways tou seem to choose not to believe, so ok.
I hope he does because that means we are winning, but if the Pats miss the playoffs the next few years I’m not so sure Bill is allowed to stick around to try to break the record. He's clueless, he'll break it with room to spare and that's assuming he's only coaching 3 more years. I've heard that he wants to stay at least 5 more. We'll see though
You seem to not understand how business folks measure success.I hope he does because that means we are winning, but if the Pats miss the playoffs the next few years I’m not so sure Bill is allowed to stick around to try to break the record.
Bill is rumoured to be making well over $20m a year. The Krafts are businessmen and expect results. Obviously Bill has generated a tremendous amount of goodwill but how long will it last? It’s not forever at the price they are paying him (over $100m for the next 4 - 5 years). We’ve all heard the story when Kraft was asked what it will take to get rid of Bill and he answered “8-8”. If we miss the playoffs this year that will be the 2 out of 3 years. I think the clock starts ticking and if they miss again I could see the Krafts making a change. They ain’t paying Bill hig $ for mediocre results.
So 3 seasons without a SB after going to 5, winning 3, wining the division 8 times and playing in the conference championship 8 times in the previous 8 years, puts you at “enough is enough”?Sure. How many non competitive, non Superbowl teams do they have to field before you say enough is enough?

Please name someone, anyone, who has done better.I hope he does because that means we are winning, but if the Pats miss the playoffs the next few years I’m not so sure Bill is allowed to stick around to try to break the record.

So in that 11 year stretch, 9 of the other 15 AFC teams have not gone to a SB at all. When is enough going to be enough for them. I mean it’s just as simple as demanding it, r
That’s not the point. Bill is the best of his generation. We all know that. But if the Krafts see a franchise that is middling, and knowing Bill’s age, do they continue to pay him $20+M a year? Or do they look for someone who they believe can lead the franchise for the next decade or more at a fraction of the cost. There’s been many, many great coaches in sports who have been let go or asked to retire once the franchise starts to flounder. I’m not saying Bill’s on the hot seat right now, all I’m saying is I don’t think he gets an automatic free ride for 5 more years if we aren’t seeing success. Please name someone, anyone, who has done better.
All those accomplishments happened with TB under center though. I think Mac is a franchise QB and I think by next year that's when we can fairly judge BB. I expect at the minimum compete for a playoff spot. Next year I expect us to be contenders. So 3 seasons without a SB after going to 5, winning 3, wining the division 8 times and playing in the conference championship 8 times in the previous 8 years, puts you at “enough is enough”?
