Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Giants @ Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

I see Asiasi and Keene did not play last night and M. Sokol had 51 snaps / 82% (joint most with Tre Nixon)
If they aren’t injured then they should have played all night. They are injured…again. No Seen Keene failed in his NFL experience. Asiasi… want him to make the 53 but he still doesn’t deserve it. Frustrating.

I knew Keene was/has been injured but Asiasi ??....I must have missed that one.

Nobody else on the roster can do this to a defense. He won with speed deep & route running near the goal line. It’d benefit the other skill position players if he was out on the field week 1 IMO.

I didn’t see the sloppy, disorganized incompetent offense that can’t get out of its own way the Greg Bedard and crew promised me.
I missed the game. Did they use the new scheme?

According to Lazar, no

Not exactly:

With Hoyer under center, the Patriots ran more of their traditional offense with a power/gap running scheme and a passing game that looked very similar to the offense last season.

However, rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe ran more of New England's under-center install that did feature the inside and outside zone concepts that the Patriots were drilling in training camp. As was the case in practice, the Pats struggled by averaging 2.9 yards per rush.

Terrence Mitchell gives me good vibes. I think we have a scrappy player with him who will hold his own. He’s no Jackson but could be a nice fill in for this year.

Some Carl Davis love:

Yup. Davis' issues have never been about his play. He's not a three-down DL, but for early down run stopping, he's been good for three seasons now. The problem is he's only been able to stay on the field for a handful of games at a time, and he got hurt again last night. Counting on him to play a near-full season might be a fool's errand.
