The 7th rounder in two years will be a nice little bonus when it arrives, but the main comp in this deal is the immediate $1m in cap space. If we had cut him, which was certain to happen, we wouldn't get that cap relief. So we made the most of the situation we were in.

He was the kind of guy that needed good injury luck his rookie year to succeed, and he didn't have that. Once he was sidelined and Brady forgot who he was, it was all downhill from there. That blown call vs KC didn't help either. He also took several egregious head shots. It wouldn't surprise me if his luck turns and he's still be in the league 4-5 years from now.

Agreed. He flashed because he has physical ability. Let him run around with Fields so he uses his athleticism without thinking, and he might bounce.

Then you must think Jack Jones is doomed as well?

Are you forgetting that after his great training camp showing, he went onto the IR prior to the start of the season (9/2/19)? He didn't come back until week 10 and looked like it was too soon. Didn't he partially tear his hamstring that year?

I don’t know about “great”, but he looked decent against Detroit before he got injured on what looked like something that shouldn’t have kept him out for as long as it did. He injured his hammy in practice then he injured his ankle from that game. He was never the same.

I am still 50/50 on whether it is Harry or Easley.

Easley was the worse pick given he supposedly had a really bad attitude and had more opportunities than Harry - yet still was invisible.

But Ras I Dowling is my worst pick given Bill had all night to think about it rather than on a very short time limit. He took a guy with multiple major injuries since High School.

Nobody is tougher on BB the GM as me, but even I would give the Branch pick an "A", not only was he a Superbowl MVP, but BB managed to trade him for a 1st rd pick, and he returned to assist in another Superbowl run.

If Branch is a "B", Harry would be a "Z"

Branch was an A+
Dobson and Bethel Johnson were not D, both were contributors for multiple seasons, change to C+.
Malcom Mitchell helped us win a SB, so that C- should be at worst a B.
Asiasi and Keene are both TBD.
Berrios (C-) is a promising WR, that should be a B (wish we could have kept him).
Thornton is 2nd round not 1st.
Picks lower than 4th round that didn't work out should not be included.

He's definitely not the worst pick, but he's up there. Ras-i is for me, what'd he start like 2 games in 3 years? Basically that fish from spongebob:

Any player can have a catch, or a game. That's not flashing. That's the law of averages. But even in his "best" game (v. Seattle), when he had 8 receptions, he only averaged 9 yards per catch and didn't have a touchdown.

I'd say Jordan Richards is probably the worst BB pick. Drafted 5 rounds too early. For real.

Dowling is a close second.

I like laughing at the Harry pick now but I don't think there were a lot of takes at the time that it would be a spectacular failure of a pick.

Eh grading after the 5th round is tough. Most picks in that range are expected to flame out. A D grade in the first round is very different than a D grade in the 6th round.

To create an overall grade I'd think you'd almost have to weight them - penalize a bad pick in the early rounds a lot harder than in the late rounds and reward a great pick in the late rounds more than the early rounds.

Hernandez is weird to grade too. A-grade if looking at it from a football perspective. With the other stuff I'd go with F.
