Bill actually said that Brady had surpassed Bledsoe in training camp in 2001 but he didn’t feel like he had enough clout as the coach yet to make the change from Bledsoe to Brady. Drew getting hurt made the decision easier for Bill to just stick with Brady. And Bill had to be talked into that pick by **** Rehbein.
And Bill only put Brady in after Bledsoe was hurt the next year in game #2.
Those same fans say that Bill was about to replace Bledsoe anyway. Sure he was. He was just waiting for the right time.
In fairness to Bill, no one did. Even his college coach sat him for Drew Hensen.Bill had absolutely no freaking clue what this lanky kid from Michigan could do in 2000. He wasn’t the person who even chose to draft him. But a year later during training camp in 2001 Bill both recognized that Drew was simply not an elite QB anymore (if he ever had been) after coaching him for a year and also that Brady was showing serious potential. I won’t take that away from him.
That's very true but that's kind of like group think...."they didn’t think so, then why should I"? If that's even a little true I don't get the "Bill drafted Tom Brady" as if that was a genius move. It was a small risk that wouldn't be criticized if it never amounted to anything. I guess give him credit for listening to **** Rehbein and taking a little chance at 199.In fairness to Bill, no one did. Even his college coach sat him for Drew Hensen.

I didn't hear Bill say that. All I heard was an assortment of grunts and snorts.Bill actually said that Brady had surpassed Bledsoe in training camp in 2001 but he didn’t feel like he had enough clout as the coach yet to make the change from Bledsoe to Brady. I agree BUT Bill does deserve credit for Brady's development even Brady has said this. That's very true but that's kind of like group think...."they didn’t think so, then why should I"? “When Tom Brady retired, we were concerned about the strength of the NFC package because there were so many terrific Tampa Bay games we were looking at,” NFL broadcasting chief Howard Katz told Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, via JoeBucsFan.com.
“Then a month later he unretires and we sort of started all over again.”
We mentioned Richardson as a potential Bucs DL signing in this mailbag last week. History with Bowles, likely less expensive than Suh.
Back to work.
The guy can't sit still I guess, lol. Good for him but honestly it's alot of Brady everywhere these days.So he's going to be calling primetime games when he's done playing. I honestly didn't see that coming and curious to see how it'll play out.
