2022 NFL Draft, Who is YOUR GUY ?

Dax Hill will be our first pick in the 2022 draft.

I am beginning to think you are in the right path.

I think he can play corner outside and slot.

More importantly bb has been feasting on Michigan players lately.

I don't think JC Jackson played a lot of slot corner, but I never really looked at that. Dax playing on the outside, while he learns like DMac did, replaces JC short-term and DMac long-term. Dax is much quicker (3Cone) and faster (40) than JC, and changes direction well so it seems like a fit on the outside. But I do not really know for sure. Dax did cover TEs while at MI, but I think he is too small initially to do that and our SSs can handle that (Dugger and Philips). I do know BB loves athleticism and versatility, and Dax has both of those in spades. McDuffie seems great too, but he is not as fast or versatile as Dax. CB is our greatest need so my money is on Dax, maybe after a small trade down for another 4th or 5th. I do not think a big trade down for an extra 2nd or 3rd will be on table for the Pats to take.

A bit more reading…mid rounds, Khalil Shakir.

Fast becoming a favorite.

Leo/Coco Chenal and George Pickens

I read there was some off field stuff with Wyatt which could see him fall out of the 1st.

In addition to Hill and Johnson at 21, a few players I like in the 2-3rd rounds are: Metchie, Shakir and Philips at WR; Kyler Gordon, Cam Taylor-Britt, Marcus Jones at CB; Logan Hall and Josh Paschal at DE; Sean Rhyan, Luke Goedeke, Zach Tom on the OL, James Cook at RB.

I would be very happy if we came away with Zion Johnson, John Metchie and Cam Taylor-Britt with our first three picks.

I also really want Matt Waletzko in the 5/6th round. Really athletic OT prospect who could bloom with some good teaching.

Trade back a couple spots if possible, this draft is incredibly deep in the middle rounds.

I don't know who will be there but based on draft simulators I'd take:

OT: Trevor Penning
DT: Jordan Davis
LB: Leo Chenal
DB: Daxton Hill

Those are the best players at the biggest positions of need for this team who might be available.

Jameson Williams is exactly what any offense needs including the Patriots. He'll be the most impactful player to come out of this draft.

Treylon Burks.

Probably due to how much I've had to defend him in personal circles where the draft is debated.

I like Williams a lot, but I think he'll be gone probably around 15 or so....I am thinking we're most likely looking at trading back unless a Jordan Davis or top O-lineman/D-lineman fall to us.

He should be the first WR off the board, which would make him a top 10 pick. If he happens to last into the mid-teens then the Patriots should be making inquiries... they would have to get in front of the Chargers at #17 because they certainly would be taking Williams there. The Saints would take him at #16 if Sean Payton was still calling the shots but I'm not sure where they're leaning at this point. The Jets could scoop him up at #10 as well.

No doubt. He is the game changer we haven’t had since Moss. But only if he is available at 21. I wouldn’t trade up with all the gaping holes we have on the roster.

My guess is he’s gone at least a handful of picks BEFORE 21.

Jordan Davis looks like the next Wilfork to me the more I look at him. So he would be my #1 guy but I doubt he lasts to 21.

The last time I was impressed by a big defensive lineman, his name was JJ Watt. The Patriots did not draft him.

So I'm not holding out any hope that BB would ever draft a 'binky'.

Realistically, regardless of your favorite player, you have to look at guys who could actually drop to #21.

Of those guys I'm looking at CB Andrew Booth Jr, a physical but smooth corner who can play the #1 outside position to replace our free agency loss of Mr. INT JC Jackson, or WR Chris Olave to give Mac Jones a reliable 1st option in the receiver group, or a foundation piece LT like Trevor Penning to protect Mac's blindside for at least the next 5 years or so.

Booth had a sports hernia surgery this off season, he is most likely going to drop out of the first round

He will be a top 10 pick. Out of pats range, unfortunately.

Well if you can pick up Booth in round 2 plus another top talent in round 1 that would be the perfect situation for the patriots.

If you think about the 2020 draft, in hindsight Barmore should have been a 1st rounder but we got him in the 2nd.

Zion Johnson has 10+ year potential at several positions. He'd be a "draft saver" if the rest of it was questionable.

I think the jets are locked on to him at 10, if they can’t swing a deebo trade.

And if the Jets do make the Deebo trade, you'd better believe SF will take Williams with the 10th pick...
