“People gotta write ****,” Arians said of talk of any rift between him and Tom Brady, sitting in the front row. “It couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Todd Bowles says he will continue to call the Bucs defense as head coach. Kacy Rodgers and Larry Foote will be co-defensive coordinators.
“I think the world of the guy,” Bowles says of Tom Brady, happy to working with him after years of coaching against him and then his defense facing him in practice in Tampa.
Bowles on Brady: "I think we're more alike than you'll ever know."
Todd Bowles comes off the stage and gives Bruce Arians a hearty handshake as he takes over as head coach.
“We blew it,” Todd Bowles says of the final play against Rams in the playoff loss. He says any time a play goes wrong, it’s on coaches and players, but game was lost on more than one play that day.
Bowles said he never once saw any sign of a supposed rift between Arians and Brady, and said he’s someone who watches everything at practice and in meetings.
Bowles on alleged Brady-Arians rift: "I see everything around me on the field. I know when you guys walk on the field. I know where you sit regularly. ... I have never one time seen a rift or problem between Bruce and Tom."
Arians said his (second) retirement from coaching won’t change anything for Tom Moore, 83, who he expects to continue in same role with Bucs, challenging Todd Bowles for who gets into the office earliest each day.
Todd Bowles, asked if Tyrann Mathieu might give the Bucs a family discount in free agency, says they’re just trying to be able to get Ndamukong Suh back, before they can work on any more outside additions.
So what about that last defensive play vs. the Rams? “I blew it,” Todd Bowles said.
Uggh apparently the Rams got Bobby Wagner. Well he’s turning 33 hopefully the wheels fall off.
Anyone who says the cap prevented a team from making a move is lying. It's a just an excuse for doing nothing, which sounds familiar.I was told they were in cap hell so how did this happen
Bucs announce they have re-signed backup quarterback Ryan Griffin. Spent last year on practice squad but a backup going all the way back to 2015 in Tampa.
Todd Bowles on Jordan Whitehead: “He was like a nephew to me. I’ll miss him immensely.” He said the team was cash-strapped at the time and made for some tough decisions.
Yeah that’s BS based on how much he got with the Jets.
Bucs have three quarterbacks on roster now with backup Ryan Griffin re-signed. Similar deal to last year -- one year, league veteran minimum $1.12 million with a modest bonus. Tampa Bay continues to add depth with limited cap space.
If Bucs try and get Tyrann Matheau, it would most certainly cost more than Whitehead. Who would be better?Whitehead jumped right away, and the Bucs hadn't cleared all the cap space yet, so that was likely slowing down some transaction flexibility. Now, whether he jumped because he didn't think the team was ever going to give him a competitive offer, or because he just didn't want to wait on the cash, or because he didn't think the Bucs would come close enough to the numbers, is something I don't pretend to know.
