Is the brady vs belichick debate ruining this board or is it just me?

Why can't we just have differences of opinion without the conversation downgrading into whose parents were or were not married at the time of the others conception?

Brady is the greatest of all time, nobody can really make any other (logical) claim otherwise. Now if Brady was drafted by say the Browns, would he have won 7 Superbowls? Of course not. I've always said that NFL greatness is a combination of play and circumstances. If you flipped Brady with Manning, I think Manning on the Pats would have won more than Brady on the Colts. On the other hand if Brady had gone to Pittsburgh. I think he would have won just as much as he did with the Pats.

My avatar is an actual picture of the infamous NEM. He and I agreed on nothing politically, but I always had fun talking to him and never questioned the legitimacy of his parents' marriage. He had an unnatural hatred of Charlie Weiss and was 100% correct when he was advocating drafting DeMarcus Ware in 2004, long before anyone had anyone had ever heard of him, or Troy (so much so that the Pats never had a chance to get him at #32).

Too many times, I see a thread has an additional 3 pages, and I go to it, thinking there is new information, and it turns out to be three pages of saber rattling between two posters.

Nobody has been more critical of BB the GM than me, but it doesn't mean that I don't believe him to be the greatest HC in the history of the NFL.

Brady and Belichick was the perfect combination, like Proter and Gamble, Smith and Wesson, and of course, the Captain and Tennille. You can't judge one of their careers without the other.

We are not all supposed to have the same opinions, if we did, how boring would that be? Just because you don't agree with someone, does not mean you have to hate that person, or spew vile at them. If you are right, you should be able to logically put forth your points without vitriol.

We should adopt the standards of the British House of commons, when addressing another member as the "Right and Honorable Gentleman (username)" before tearing into their opinions.

Everything I said about Brady being less than perfect in the SB (6 INTS, 3 fumbles, 1 IG penalty) is true... A lot of those mistakes could have cost the pats the SBs they won. I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings.
Yea that's like maybe .05% of what I was talking about

Yup, The Deflator loves him...

When you let trolls like the doofus posting above me run wild and fan even the tiniest flame it devolves into a full blown debate again. The debate is going to go on for a very long time but when you have people deliberately injecting nonsense into a conversation it sucks everyone in and it turns a couple back and forth posts into a multi-page argument that derails the thread. In the end of the day the Bill or Brady discussion at its core is a valid one but with most things at this point in time it ends up turning into a sh*tstorm because people don't seem to respect the fact that other people can have a differing opinion.

Damn dude just when I thought you couldn't go lower.

Superbowl 42 and Deflategate...

You're supposed to be a Patriots fan. Those two events are cardinal sins here to even mention

I mentioned this a few times but Manning and Bill would have been interesting. Especially early on in their careers. Indy asked and had no problem living and dying on Manning's arm. The INT's didn't bother them. They built their entire team around the pass. Not sure how things would play out with Bill. Manning was also a big deal, obviously former #1 overall pick. He had some pull and Dungy isn't exactly confrontational figure. So it was clear who's team it was from the jump. Compare that to the vet locker room we had. Brady almost udfa. Bill not exactly a wallflower.

We definitely hit lightening in a bottle in that respect. I think Bill & Manning would have worked out late in Manning's career but it's interesting to think about how they would have faired early on.
We can only speculate with any top qb under Bill. I just don't get the feeling that the prima donna types, like Manning or Rodgers, would adapt as well as Brady did. We had a perfect match here.

There might be some Brady vs Bledsoe members in there ... they really enjoyed that self punishment.
Ahhhhhh, the good ol' days. Brady vs Bledsoes was a big deal at the time.

To the Right and Honorable Gentleman FreeTedWilliams I must say that I agree with most of what you said but not the part where we can't judge one without the other. We actually do have evidence of that now.

Proctor and Gamble stayed together as did Smith and Wesson. I'm not sure of the Captain and Tennille. However, only the younger Kellog stayed with the cereal and Reese left Hershey and went on his own as they both prospered. The same hasn't happened with B&B.

Brady may QB the Miami Dolphins next season.

I wonder? Fan buys Tom Brady's "last" touchdown football for $518,628 — then Brady unretires. An unknown fan paid more than half a million dollars for the last football Tom Brady threw in an NFL game before retiring last season.Mar 14, 2022. What will Brady pay the fan to get the ball back? Nothing!

I feel like its been discussed on 80% of threads for the last 2 years with no end in sight. The same arguments are brought up and its just one side trashing the other nonstop. It might just be me, but I feel like over the last two years its gotten noticebly bad.
You are correct. Belichick didn't quit on the Pats, he is still with the team. The same can't be said for Brady. Some Pats fans are so obsessed with Brady they should move on with him. Maybe he will QB the Miami Dolphins next season, that's the rumor.

You're the most obsessed with TB12 lol I don't see you posting anywhere other than Brady threads and your post history shows it

Forget about him/her/it.

Let's talk about the subject of the thread. Is the B vs B debate hurting this board? I say that it isn't hurting the board but it has changed it. It's still oodles of fun here for a Pats fan. :)
