The article on ESPN said this was in the works for weeks.
Weeks, not months. The plan to get Brady and Payton was started like two months ago.

BB got oldI always admired how the Pats were very frugal while scheming championship teams. Now it seems we have no plan, let guys go without compensation, wait too long to do anything when guys are available. What happened?
Talent wise probably, but I'm sure the odds take into consideration BB as the coach, hence the same odds, similar to a point spread where he's going to be worth an extra point or two.As of today, Dolphins > Pats
Here is what I found:
You think??As of today, Dolphins > Pats
Even with Bill they beat us twice last year and really it was that godawful stretch they had that kept them out of the playoffs. So far they look like a better team than last year and we look worse. It will likely end up being close, but at a face value take, hard to not put them over usTalent wise probably, but I'm sure the odds take into consideration BB as the coach, hence the same odds, similar to a point spread where he's going to be worth an extra point or two.
Hill wanted to reset the WR market and outdo Adams deal. The Chiefs have Kelce, Juju, Gordon and likely will add someone else and can now focus on defense.Wait. Why do this?
No first rounder will be as good as Hill.
That young CB who we all so desperately covet better not have confidence Issues because people are going to get burned Buffalo/Miami twice with their skill position players yikes.Talent wise probably, but I'm sure the odds take into consideration BB as the coach, hence the same odds, similar to a point spread where he's going to be worth an extra point or two.
A) I don't blame Hill for wanting that deal. Personally, I feel Adams is better. But it's close.Hill wanted to reset the WR market and outdo Adams deal. The Chiefs have Kelce, Juju, Gordon and likely will add someone else and can now focus on defense.
Yup.Let the woman beating and child assaulting begin!!!! You go, Dolphizzz..you know, because "INTEGRITA!!"...beat women and children? get biggest WR contract in the league...Goodelian Logic
$230m and $72m guaranteed. $302m. Over a quarter of a billion to these model citizens. Maybe I need to watch something else. This league makes me sick sometimes.Yup.
Watson & Hill deals make me sick as a human being. Both are scum.
Question: Does not having Hill anymore make us not as hated? Kelce is a bit out there. But he's not scum.
Nope. People hate you because of the stupid dynasty talk and how overrated the media has made Mahomes. Hill being scum was low on the list of reasons to hate the Chiefs.Yup.

I'm guessing Tyreek wanted to set the new record contract for WRs and the Chiefs have a lot of money tied up already in a few contracts. Can't have highest paid at every position. Here they got an entire draft class for the guy. That'll get them some cheap labor, which they absolutely need due to the top heavy cap-onomics.Wait. Why do this?
