Patriots Player Departure JC Jackson Bolting to the Bolts

so bill the GM now values old yes men who'll toe the company line (Slater, Mccourty, hoyer) than talent (Jackson).... not looking great.... just wait till they bring back the punter at $5M

I don't mean to bring up Brady again but... he was incredible that year. Our defense wasn't really that great that year, if you look past scoring defense.
What was wrong with that defense? It was incredible. And not sure why you would look past the part that matters the most.

The usual spin BS after failing. Or they were indeed close and he still wanted to leave. Both are bad.
Interesting use of “fail”. Under a capped system the best definition of failure is to think a player is must have and overpay. Sticking to your value assessment, being willing to pass on players and get players of value is success. 17 mill is about 8% of the cap for the entire team. If Jackson were a top shut down corner he never would have gotten away. All the people harping on the Buffalo games and wanting to pay 17 mill for the guy who didn’t play like a 17 mill players in those games seem to just like to complain.
If the patriots were run the way fans wanted it we would have won nothing.
There are over 1600 players in the nfl, thinking you have to have one of them or it’s failure is how you fail.

Imagine how much this team would have won if you were in charge instead of that incompetent belichick. Are you available if they fire him?

Jackson is gonna go up against a lot of talented wrs in the west and won't have a scheme to protect him.

I am glad patriots let him walk
That scheme wasn't effective at the end though it was more like what scheme??

In my lifetime the Bolts have never been for real.
In my lifetime, they were for real once, when they demolished the Boston Patriots 51-10 in the 1963 AFC championship game. I was so disappointed watching that game on tv. Was good practice for the Bears thrashing two decades later.

Poor Josh what a time to a Team in very Tough division. Are we on the Raiders schedule?? Might be the only chance they have to win a game.

Yes, but they won the Super Bowl in 2016 in one of those gap years. Logan Ryan was our top CB against the Falcons. Gilmore joined in 2017.
Butler was their top CB.

Defense was good enough and I usually crap all over the defense.

Because you rank based on who you play.

Well, well, well…. “Mr INT” gets paid… Could be wrong, but I have a feeling the Chargers are going to regret this day. After all, it’s not like they’re paying “Prime Time”….
Wishful thinking not with Bosa and a rejuvenated Mack! Gotta have a D that can slow down Mahkurmit.

Fun with math

$82,500,000 after taxes in California = $38.924 mill
$82,500,000 after taxes in Massachusetts = $45.944 mill
Digging into the context that I'm very curious whether or not Mr Jackson did himself - 13% highest in the nation (and didnt they just put in a millionaire's tax too???). Good post.

They won the SB. They allowed the least points in the league.
They allowed 17 points or less 13 of 17 games.
Other than this bs “who you play” crap (and they played 8 games against playoff teams) please go ahead and tell me all the negatives about the 2016 patriots defense.

Let's hope JC's signing lights a fire under Slowquan @ss. A UDFA who worked his @ss off and cashed in.

You clearly missed my previous post that was right above my response to you.

It was the best defense in the league, not “good enough”

That’s not happening, he blows.

Good for JC, hope he does well (unless its against us!). Bolts seem like they have a fun defense forming over there.

I do not mind losing jackson. I never thought he was a number shut down corner.

I wish him the best out west, except when he plays us.

The scheme was very efffective except when they were outmatched by Buffalo.
