Patriots Player Departure JC Jackson Bolting to the Bolts

A few more details. $17m average, but $20m per year over first 2 years which is likely all guaranteed based on Schefter’s earlier tweet. Seems like the guarantees were the issue for the Pats.

That’s not as much as I thought he would even get paid. Damn.

That is right where i figured his contract would be, whole dollar wise... looks like i was offbase on the guarantees, but we will see when the contract gets out... and I had the wrong team lol...

I’m willing to admit I was wrong on JC’s market value. Big L for me.

Bargain for the Chargers.

Good for him. I like seeing udfa play well and get paid as a result.

Chargers had a lot of cap space to work with so why not try to win right now while Herbert is still cheap

JC will have every right to ask for more if he performs in years 4 and 5. Just like Gilmore did. If he's getting $40m in first 2 years, then he'll ask for a redo when he sees he's getting $13-15m over the final 3 years while other lesser CBs are signing for $22m-23m.

Great spot for JC:

- Living in LA
- Defense with talent and pass rushers forcing QB into bad throws.
- Good young QB with an offense that can score.

Belichick didn't think he was all that good. Let's face it.

He's clearly in the Asante Samuel, Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan camp, in Bill's eyes.

I trust Bill to know how to evaluate a pro CB.

We brought in Gilmore, Revis and Talib, let Samuel, Butler, Ryan and now Jackson go.
How dare you pollute this thread, nay this forum, with such level headed takes. What is required is hot takes of negativity. Bile spewing hatred. Go stand in the corner until you learn your lesson.

That's the problem with these signing bonuses, the player has a convenient memory loss. Before it's over the Chargers will end up paying him another $10m at least for those last couple of years.

So hopefully since JC is now gone, BB can spread that money around and fill in what we need.
And, we better land an immediate starting CB in the draft

Wow. AFCW is stacked! Might have to go to a couple Donks games this season.

Chargers are for real. They need some interior line help to shore up the run D and maybe a slot WR. They'll make waves in the AFC.

But bill saved money! You shouldn't go cheap when your QB is on a rookie deal.

Look what Kirk cousins is getting paid
How are they going cheap? We don't know yet how they'll allocate their remaining cap, but we know they will spend it.

Yeah, I'm coming back out here to LA in the fall to hit some Chargers games. (Those tickets are easy, the Rams, not so much.)

Well, well, well…. “Mr INT” gets paid… Could be wrong, but I have a feeling the Chargers are going to regret this day. After all, it’s not like they’re paying “Prime Time”….
