Malcolm Butler reunion?

This is a different animal for both sides though
Lots of apparent bad blood from the past has apparently been easily forgotten, see the returns of Deion Branch, Jamie Collins, Van Noy, Ben Watson, Karras, and others who I am forgetting.

Brandon ("Four years a slave") Spikes came back -- though it didn't last long!

When has BB let past things bother him, if he thinks he can help he'll bring him in.
Belichick refused to let the man take the field on defense in a Super Bowl when his defense was getting thoroughly embarrassed. So no, he isn't "bringing in Butler if he thinks Butler can help the team." He didn't do it then so he certainly isn't doing it now.

Super Bowl 52... does anyone really think Belichick is inviting any further scrutiny over that coaching debacle??

yes... because i'm sure BB wants the local media to keep banging the "why didn't he play" drum whenever he makes a play...
Have you not figured out yet that belichick could not care less who says what?

This isn't the run-of-the-mill traded mid-season/cut pre-season type of reunion. Getting benched for the goddamn Super Bowl (when you were the team's best player at the position) is a 100% unforgiveable act that you never come back from.

Literally would stay retired if the Pats were his only option.

Have you read this board? It is significantly more likely that someone making that comment is not joking than is.

I have read th board, and there are people here with a wonderful sense of humor... i would have started the sentence with "No" if i was being serious... jeeze

Listen it both sides have mended the fences, why not? He’s not a solution by any means to our issues if JC were to leave, but it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra vet in the room for depth, maybe someone to push Mills on the opposite side.

He was cooked 5 years ago, that's why.

It looks like Butler was playing at a very high level in 2020.

Does anyone know why the Titans bailed on him?

10 million in immediate cap space would be my guess

We should ignore him and put Bademosi on the field instead.

Too soon?

Malcolm Butler is a perfect example of why Malcolm Butler will not sign back with the pats.

BB can grab 3 of the best UDFA CBs and throw them against the wall.... at least one will stick.

CB is by far the most athletic of all the positions. Butler wasn't the most athletic to begin with. It's reasonable to assume he's lost a step.

We need younger, faster, taller.

There certainly is. Unfortunately the individual you were engaging isn't one of them

I would be interested in a Butler reunion. We brought back Jamie Collins TWICE.

And he would not be replacing JC Jackson nor Mills in the secondary. He would be competing with Myles Bryant and JoeJuan Williams.

On a related note, how is Jon Jones these days? Recuperating well I hope???
This was more of my idea here. I more would just want to sign him on a cheap 1 year deal if anything. Well aware it’s possible he’s cooked.

I think Malcolm Butler would be a good stop gap for JC Jackson who I can't see us giving a enormous contract with all the holes to fill. He's still better than SlowQuan and others. I wouldn't be so fast to write the possible Butler reunion off. I hope we Tag and Trade JC Jackson for a Second Rounder we could use the pick.
