OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Brady talking about a possible return during SB week is really poor form from him.
I didn't hear the podcast this time so I don't know for sure but it sounds like he was just answering a question and that's it.

Sounds like he went Romeo Void and then moved on.

Because his wife won.

I'll probably just watch the halftime show and the 2nd half of the SB.

I wasn't sure how much interest I would have after Brady retires. Not much as it turns outs. So who cares if it's during SB week.

Next season, I don't really care about the Bucs or Patriots or any team during regular season. But I will cheer for them in they make the playoffs.

He just answered a question.
Those questions are seeded by him ahead of time. It’s his podcast.

I think Deus is probably right and Gisele won which may explain why Brady handled this whole retirement poorly IMO. From the timing to the actual announcement omitting any mention of the Patriots to talking about coming back literally within days of the announcement.

I still find it odd that he retired at 44 when he has spent years saying either
(1) He wants to play until 45
(2) He will play until he sucks

One possibility since he want to avoid a farewell tour is that when he said 45 he really intended 44. Maybe he had an agreement with Gisele for that. Probably didn't figure on having an MVP worthy season at age 44

Listening to the Jim Gray interview he really does not sound like a man who wanted to retire. It was incredibly uncomfortable.

I agree. He sounds down and was not convincing at all when he said he was happy with his decision. I am starting to think we do see him back this season.

Is there any point in this thread or this entire section of the forum anymore?
Brady is still on the Bucs roster.

You don't have to come here. There's a thread ignore feature that's pretty handy.

Yeah you can’t look at this through the prism of a sports fans. And especially with the Glazers who truly don’t care about their teams. Kraft is at least legitimately a fan even if money considerations come first. But when we’re talking about the ultra rich, the multi billionaire class, it’s just a different world from ours and they treat money and the pursuit of more money in a way we just can’t. In many ways these ultra rich people act similarly to professional gamblers in how they treat investments vs returns.
I guess that in a way it is all a gamble, even for the ultra-rich.

I taught my kids to pursue whatever made them happy and not what made them rich.

I don't know, is there? I'd help you in some way if I could. You could always complain.

You dared to leave the safe main forum place unprotected to ask that over here? You are brave. Make sure you quarantine and are fully debriefed .before you expose or infect everone and before resuming normal posting duties on the other side.

This is what someone wrote at another site. It must have been frustrating for Brady to know that the assistant coaches were busy interviewing and deciding which other Buc coaches they were going to take with them if hired.

Frustrating thing is if Pat were gifted with 4 fumbles, you know 100% that they'd put the nails in the coffin.

"IMO….when Brady talked about no distractions during the week of playoff games, he was sending a message to more than the players. It was a shot to the staff that he didn’t appreciate them interviewing when the whole purpose he was here was on the line. For three games in a row, Leftwich’s offense sputtered in the first half for an avg of 10 pts….in the biggest moment of what could have been another epic comeback by Brady, Bowles defense completely sh!ts itself with 40 seconds remaining leaving the best WR in the game open to set up a game winning FG. I think if that rubbed Brady wrong, his teammates took notice and might be a bit down as well on this staff."
It's so funny that Brady outlasted the entire NYFL and was still one of the few who was willing to make sacrifices for the good of winning. Right now Bill Belichick is trying to duplicate the QB play that he was gifted with for two decades. This is one of those times when letting go of a player a year too early really blew up in his face.

The only one of those guys that is going to cost a lot is Godwin and Tampa already said he is their #1 priority. I would imagine they address Dline in the draft as Tyron is a stud. They can also address center there too if they wish.

I mean this is not a rebuild at all. It is just some tweeking. And Tampa has not given any indication that they were going to pull back at all. I am not sure where that line of thinking is coming from. Brady made them $700 mil the last 2 years. They would have done anything he wanted.
Most people recognized how special Brady had become.

He gave teams chances that no other player could.

How will TB replace Brady?

That part is unsettling, if it really was his wife's and not his decision. She should have recognized what he was about to accomplish and let him pursue that for as long as he could.

This is one of the sexiest videos ever

Incredible
Remarkable
Astounding
I don't have a word that describes him. Maybe one can be invented.
