and raise you Ryan Leaf and Akili Smith... with a David Klingler in reserve,,,,,
I understand what you are saying, but I think the 3 you mentioned actually could perform at an NFL level. They were high draft picks for a reason but definitely didn't work out.

I watched the Cards the years Lindley was there and he was just awful. In his first season, he posted a very low 46.7 passer rating and threw 7 interceptions compared to 0 touchdowns. He was there for 2 years his first time around and then bounced around the league including a preseason stint with the Pats. He actually started some games in his career including a playoff game!
From his wiki page: Lindley threw his first career touchdown pass to Michael Floyd, ending an NFL-record 228 pass attempts without a touchdown to start his career.[6] He finished the 2014 season with a 48.4% completion rate, 562 yards passing, 2 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, and a 56.8 passer rating.[7]

On January 3, 2015, in the Cardinals' first-round playoff game at the Carolina Panthers, Lindley completed 16 of 28 passes for 82 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.[8] He had a passer rating of 44.3 and Arizona lost 27–16.[8] The Cardinals totaled 78 yards of offense, the fewest in NFL playoff history.[9]

I still have no idea how he was in the NFL. His coach in AZ was Bruce Arians if that tells us anything.

Initially I thought Flores had a solid stance, but upon more review he's starting to seem a little like a scorned lover.
Interesting stat, Flores and Gase were back to back HC at MIA. Gase went 23-25, Flores went 24-25, both fired after 3 years.
Gase went on to coach Jets the following year, Flores seemed on track to get another job this season. So what that BB speculated that Giants liked Daboll before all the interviews were done!?! Welcome to the real world, businesses have the prerogative to hire who they like. You have worked in the NFL since you were 23, climbing the ranks and getting a HC job at 38. Does that sound like a racist organization that colluded to prevent you from getting to the top? Doesn't the amount of minority & female executives being hired recently show something too? The real issue is the Rooney Rule is racist, that's what truly devalues and segregates people of color from being truly evaluated as equal in the workforce.

"It represented the hotel maid who accused prospective French president Dominique Strauss-Kahn of rape; accusers of Harvey Weinstein; former New York Knicks player Charles Oakley in his lawsuit against Madison Square Garden over his forceful ejection from the arena; and women who made allegations of sexual harassment while at Fox News. So Wigdor views Flores’ allegations of racism in NFL hiring practices, contained in an explosive lawsuit filed Tuesday, as keeping with these and other cases."

The Athletic spoke with Wigdor partner David Gottlieb, who said he expects another person to join the suit in weeks if not days, that Flores still considers himself a candidate for the head coach openings in Houston and New Orleans, and that it might be time to scrap the Rooney Rule.

Flores makes some specific charges, such as the accusation that Dolphins owner Steve Ross offered $100,000 per game for losses. Is there any evidence he has or people he confided in at the time?

When a lawsuit gets filed, there’s a process called discovery, which is where all the evidence gets fleshed out. That’s where we will be able to take testimony and a deposition of Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, and then we will be able to obtain emails, text messages and the like.

Former Browns head coach Hue Jackson on Twitter appeared to suggest he, too, was offered money from the owner to lose. Have you seen that, reached out to him?

I can tell you that there’s been a number of conversations with people, both inside football and outside football, and we expect that there will be additional people coming forward in the coming days and weeks.

I really don’t see any wrong-doing here outside of offering cash to tank.

Let's rewind the last 24hrs

Brady Retires
Flo claims racism vs the Giants, Broncos and Fins
Flo claims his fmr owner wanted to take a dive
Hue Jackson claims his owner PAID him to take a dive
The WFT changed their name who also have serious issues they need to still answer for.

I'm sure more is coming.
Brady Quinn retired!?!

There is already at least one witness who overheard Ross attempt to bribe Flores.

Are we getting a 3rd rounder for Flores’ positive review of his time here?

That applies to everybody. How many young people early in life make poor choices and hurt their chances at a job like that?
I have three relatives who are on a coaching track. They played in college at 3 level schools and played their hearts out. They then took high school coaching jobs at private schools where they also taught (degree required) and then moved to college levels and one, now about 32, is with a really good and well known college program now but they all make absolute crap money and work their butts off. Will it pay off for them and result in them making it to the pros and making real money, I have no idea. It seems like college is a better gig for most anyway. The best way to be a pro coach is to be born to one. That is true in so many areas. My brother speaks of how the law students who had parents who were lawyers were so much better off than he was. I have seen the NFL commercials all talking about equity vs equality. I looked up equity and it is about everyone having the same results and that some need more support because they are not starting in the same place. That is an entirely different conversation and makes me think of all the sacrifices my economically poor parents made to give me the best they could and that which I do to help my children.

The Giants respond:

The allegation that the Giants' decision had been made prior to Friday evening, January 28, is false. And to base that allegation on a text exchange with Bill Belichick in which he ultimately states that he "thinks" Brian Daboll would get the job is irresponsible. The text exchange occurred the day before Coach Daboll's in-person interview even took place. Giants' ownership would never hire a head coach based only on a 20-minute zoom interview, which is all that Mr. Daboll had at that point.

In addition, Mr. Belichick does not speak for and has no affiliation with the Giants. Mr. Belichick's text exchange provides no insight into what actually transpired during our head coaching search.

I don’t think we knew the date of the text exchange.
This even adds further question to the claim.
Clearly Daboll wasn’t hired before his interview.

The reason I think Flores has made an error. There are issues but the ones the chose to highlight are very weak and he has ended up genuinely disappointing some good people along the way. I feel the Giants meant well. Flores has destroyed that bridge.

The Denver part was really bad too.
If you read the suit some of the things they are asking for are taking hiring and firing decisions out of the hands of owners and requiring public written statements describing the reasons for firing.

These are contracts and the terms should be in the contract as far as termination of the contracts and penalties for. They usually have something like you get paid for 4 years, if we let you go you get x% less any amount another team pays you if you get picked up. I really hate the idea of interfering with legal contracts like this

Publicizing a statement giving the reasons you fired someone is a terrible idea. Of course it’s suggested by lawyers, who will be first in line to sue because the reasons for coach a werent as solid as the reasons for coach b.
