I'm curious as to why Flores was so opposed to tampering with Brady. It was actually better for our cause if Tom figured out what he wanted before FA, because it got much more difficult to do a deal to bring him back if he hit the open market.

Isn't it in the owner's interest to give fans at least the appearance that a POC has at least a tiny shot at the job, or if nothing else, at least the voice of one POC is being heard even if it is only for a couple hours in an interview? Is that too much to ask for?

Or is it THAT important to keep the plantation owners as a class separate?

In a league that works so hard on appearances, can't even this tiny gesture be a part of the scene?

And presuming that it is, can't the teams just get their sh!t together and execute it as intended?

I don't know if he can legally prove Daboll was 100% getting the job before the interview, but I think it is at least suspicious. I guess you could potentially argue they were thrilled with Daboll but wanted to hear Flores out. I do think Flores is right, but really depends on who the judge is reviewing it.

Till the deal is signed it does not exist. Ask the Colts and Josh McDaniels. The Giants don't legally owe Flores an interview or anything. The Rooney Rule is not a law and they met it with another coach anyway. Flores seems upset they used him to meet the Rooney rule. So what, he could have said no to the interview if he wanted. Again, people get interviewed all the time who are not hired. people are interviewed all the time after a previous interview candidate has already been identified as being a probable hire, people are interviewed by competitors all the time just so they can try and get competitive information. Flores has lost any goodwill I may have had towards the situation with this and complaining about the Broncos who came to Rhode Island to meet him.

I'd suggest a call to Deion Sanders, Michael Strahan, Skip Gates, Magic, MJ, Lebron, Denzell, Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Beyonce, Serena Williams, Robert Smith, etc.

Goodell must step down or be removed.

Flores himself said he took the interview because he believed there was a chance.

The Rooney rule has always been about getting more minorities the opportunity to interview and wow the team.
That’s what happened here. Daboll was a better candidate and he got the job.

You missed a big one:

Ross wanted Flo to tamper with "a prominent QB" which Rappaport is reporting as Brady.

I have many problems with this report, not least of which is Rappaport is an NFL employee reporting on the integrity of the NFL. Huge conflict of interest. Seems pretty convenient to have it be Brady's name linked to this. It's too clean. He's retired.
