OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

The goal-line sequence at the end of regulation + the 3 OT throws is some of the worst quarterback play I've ever seen.
Spot on.
Those sequences PLUS the goal line sequence at the end of the 1st half where potential game winning points were foregone strangled baby goat's legacy in the crib.
All the issues and weaknesses about Mahomes' after the snap decisions and running around with hair on fire behavior were displayed for everyone to see. The consequences were another big playoff loss. He learned nothing from his SB loss or perhaps didn't care. He's the hero of Fantasy Football and casual fans with no attention span who get wood over 10 second video cuts of "spectacular" plays.

With Brady retiring, I can see him becoming the new Tom House where NFL QB can book a week of workout through TB12 with Tom to work on their mechanics, mental aspects etc

The greatest players rarely make good coaches.

Lol...these are the new norm, by the way. The Chiefs forum is littered with them. Goes something like:

"Brady went 10 years without winning a Super Bowl!!"

"Brady has played lots of bad games!"

Or the tweet below.

Misses the entire point: golden opportunities squandered. Rookie salary, two all-pro offensive weapons in their prime, great offensive line, weak competition. Complete and utter choke job at home against a team served up on a silver platter.

LOL. Brady had 2 rings by age 26 and then won 3 by age 27. He also went 10-0 to begin his post-season career (2 conf. champ game wins at Pitt) not 8-3 with two horrible AFC champ losses at home.

It's Ok though. I mean they have to try to keep the candle lit for believing Mahomes is anywhere close to Brady's level. It is so unfair in a lot of ways. My brother-in-law who is from Long Island and a Jete fan told me last year that Brady ruined the NFL for all QBs. LOL. He is so right. The standard is absurd.

If only I knew how much he would have sucked, I would have watched the game.

Not only that, but the "Brady went 10 years!" type crowds conveniently forget that, until Brady put 4 more Lombardis on his mantle, "Brady went 10 years" was used as an anti-Brady insult.

Got to believe if Brady is on tonight he addresses his future in some form or fashion. Bucs still believe the weekend reports on ESPN and CBS were a false alarm but that Brady could retire.

I mean I don’t think he can dodge it but hey he’s good at it.

I don't see him saying much other than he hasn't made up his mind yet and just spending time with family

I don't think he's retiring for some reason. Why would he tell Bucs management that he isn't EVEN CLOSE to making a decision? Either the sources from last week are good and Brady lied to TB or the sources are garbage and they were simply trying to be first to 'break the news'. After watching this weekend you gotta believe he wants to come back. The incompetence in coaching in play is so high in the NFL that it passes off as brilliancy at times but he knows as well as anyone that with the right pieces and better luck with injuries they can win again next year.

or TB is lying to save face..its BA and co. who the **** knows.

This "Brady hates Arians" in this thread has gotten entertaining, considering it's entirely guesswork. There's nothing to indicate he hates Arians. If the Bucs had an ultimatum of Brady or Arians, there wouldn't even be a discussion; Arians would be kicked out the door. I'm guessing Brady is frustrated with certain things from the season, not that this is different from any other season when the team comes up short. I think this is a lot simpler than people make it out to be: Brady had planned to play until age 44 or 45. Based on the Bucs outlook, he's probably on the fence about whether it's worth one last year.

He’s Still saying the party line over retirement or not word for word like he did before the season ended. Seems absolutely incensed by the words he’s choosing that this got out.

Yeah. He used the word “disappointed” talking about the fact that this got out.

Brady said ''When i suck, i'll retire.'' in 2014.

He probably came to the realization that it's not actually going to happen anytime soon, and considering his unbeatable legacy, what's there to play for?

He had a ton of motivation last year, cementing his GOAT status, winning a SB with another team, etc... I think losing Godwin, then the Brown fiasco made him say to himself ''I'm too old for this nonsense.''

I'd rather he retire now, with his last season being at an MVP-level, rather than overstay his welcome and play for the hell of it. It's kind of incredible to retire at 44 because you've had enough, still easily being a top 3 QB in the league. It's ridiculous.

He played better this year than last year actually. I don't think it's fear of sucking. Clearly he has to feel hes not going to suck anytime soon. This is for his family.
