OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Oh man there is a lot of “Brady will consider retirement” talk this morning from people like Schefter and Rapaport. This better be a power play by Brady.

Oh and Jeff Darlington who had better Brady news 2 years ago than anyone else.
It's impossible to predict what's going to happen considering they're in the middle of a title defense.

I doubt winning back-to-back and losing tonight would have the same impact on Brady's decision, so it's moot to argue will he/won't he at least until the season ends. I can't fathom Brady retiring after winning it back-to-back and not coming back to try to become the first ever to do a three peat.

On the other hand, winning it 2 titles in 2 years with Tampa, and retiring with 8 rings, would be the greatest ride into the sunset ever. He has all the regular season records, all the playoff records, 7/8 rings, there is nothing else to chase.

Brady is not losing this game today. Yeah quote me in 8 hours if I’m horribly wrong fine. But Brady doesn’t exist in a vacuum. And he saw what occurred yesterday in that 49ers/Packers game. He won’t lose this game and miss the opportunity to beat Jimmy at home to go to the Super Bowl.

If the Bucs survive today, I think Brady wins it again and retires.

Honestly TB just doesn't match up well with LA.
I think LA wins this one. Then they destroy the 49ers. I'll say 37-21 LA today.

I have a feeling it'll be KC-LA in the SB. With KC being 6 point favorites.
I'm glad you feel this way because If I recall your feelings aren't too 'hot'. TB should safely win tonight along with Buffalo.

I have no idea what he's thinking but here's another theory: It's a narrative to try and calm down officiating. TB is dead last in calls against opponents this season along with the Saints. Maybe they plant a seed to try and get refs to just lay off. We all remember the last Philly SB.

the worst nightmare for Belichick is definitely a Brady vs Bills Super Bowl.

According to some fans who want to imagine BB thinks like that. A more realistic assumption is he acknowledges and respects the abilities of both and isn't personally invested either way.

A potential Brady-Jimmy NFCCG would be pretty cool considering the Patriots/Bill drafted both of them.

Have you seen how TB has played against the Rams? It's all about match ups. Even when Brady beat the Rams in the SB, it was tough to score points.

How can you "Safely" predict a Buffalo win in KC? Buffalo doesn't have the better QB. Certainly the coaching is a wash. Yeah Buffalo got a better defense. But the KC defense need not be spectacular when the offense is putting up at least 30 points.

Give up a chance to become the only team in history to win 3 straight SBs?

Ya you have the better QB and the game is at home. I give you the edge. But guys like Allen have to start somewhere and they are very capable of going in there and winning. You put too much stock into the last matchups for both teams. LA matches up well but I wouldn't give them the win just yet and I sure wouldn't give them the win vs SF.

I think from a media perspective it might not be what he wants but I agree that at the very least he doesn't care about what's happening with other teams. He's got much to worry about here.

Maybe Brady retires (SB win or not) because he wants to see his kids grow up. And be around family more.

In Tom vs Time, there was talk he wanted to win two more SB's. He's done that. All the while transforming a sad sack team into an elite one.

There's nothing more for him to prove. 8 SB wins isn't going to make him greater. He can't get anymore greater. He's already the GOAT.

Last years game against the Rams was a 3 point loss when the Bucs were all disorganized and a mess. Remember they then lost to the Chiefs the next week. It’s irrelevant for today.

Week 3 is more relevant but well, that was in LA.

It’s not about “what more is there to prove.” Does he like doing this and does he think he can accomplish even more? If the answer is yes he’ll play.

Nope can’t see it. Brady is back next year win or lose. I’ll be shocked if that doesn’t happen.

If Brady retires he has to give back a cool $15 million so that’s also a consideration.

The notion that BB worries about his legacy being tarnished by Tom's post-Patriots exploits is a media-manufactured canard.
