O God it could be like Adam Gase.
I’d rather grab Charlie Weis out or retirement.
I think it would hurt us worse to lose Elliot Wolf who helped put together a great draft Vs Mcdaniels.
I think it would be wrong for Houston to fire Culley they have been competitive.
No matter how much roster overhauling has been going on.
I will agree Josh going to Houston is the job that makes the most sense of Bill is coaching another 5 plus years.
If Mayo leaves as a HC or a DC if not given the title over Stephen, I think that is a bigger loss for our D and could possibly put Patricia back on the defensive staff which I don’t think anybody wants.
I think Mac is going to be great no matter who his OC is.
I feel anyone who has watched the Patriots over the last 10 years could script his plays.
BB hiring Adam Gase as OC if Josh leaves is a very real possibility

The only coach in-house who might be considered as new OC if Josh jumps is Bo Hardegree. He's been a QB coach in the E/P system for 7 years and being a fmr QB himself knows the job.
True, but he‘s only been with the Pats for one year and it’s BOB’s job if he wants it. It’s no coincidence he’s the OC at Alabama.

He's at Alabama because he's also getting paid $1.1m a year not including bonuses.

We have no idea if he'd come back to NE or if they want him. I would agree with you I think it's possible.

My belief is he wants to be a HC again.

Going to Houston when they don’t have a QB, and won’t be able to get one in this draft would be a big mistake by MacDaniels. And I don’t agree that Jones will be great no matter what, as hiring a sack of sh.t like Urban Meyer or Bill O’Brien could destroy his development. I do agree that bringing back Weiss would be preferable to hiring either of the two I mentioned, but I would rather see Belichick find a young offensive coach to eventually replace MacDaniels, and take over the offense until they are ready. Ultimately I think Kraft is going to try and convince MacDaniels to stay, and will promise him the HC job when Belichick steps aside to convince him. MacDaniels may not want to wait, but if he passes up another HC job then I think it’s safe to say he will replace Belichick when the time comes.

Other than Urban Meyer there is no worse choice for OC than O’Brien. He single handedly destroyed an up and coming Texans franchise, and I believe that he deliberately sabotaged them to get out of his contract there. And he was the only OC in the last 20 years who couldn’t win a Lombardi with the Patriots, despite having the best receivers in their history to work with. Even Brady improved after he left, and he was already a finished product.

My theory is that he’s parked there. He wants to be an HC but I suspect he’d come back to the Pats as the OC.

And I would be fine with that decision.

Runs E/P. Has experience as an OC. Gase worked for Josh in Denver. Gase worked for Saban at LSU. Hardegree worked for him at Miami. Knows NFL personnel. I know Gase was a train wreck as an HC but hes that "FoBB" circle of trust.

Good reasons, but while I have seen some say he ran an Earnhardt/Perkins offense, Gase told the Miami Sun Sentinel that his offense was part Mike Martz( a pure Zampese timing offense) and part Tom Moore’s Ace offense. He made no mention of the E/P offense. And like you said he was a train wreck as a HC. I don’t want him anywhere near Mac Jones, I’ll take Hardegree if MacDaniels leaves. If Meyers, O’Brien, and Gase would be the leading candidates to replace MacDaniels then all better start praying to Sweet Baby Jesus that MacDaniels stays. I don’t want Jones career flushed down the toilet with any of those @ssholes.

Truly shocked that Fangio was fired. He had NO QB. Vince Lombardi couldn't have won here with the crappy QB situation.

No argument from me. Gase is weird. Just saying it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Yep- Moore's "Ace" system is a combo of Air Coryell and E/P. Big reason why he's very helpful in TB as his offense is Arians' "Go" offense and TB12 and his E/P knowledge.

Fascinating how all these base systems essentially become dialects of base languages.

mods would be busy in the game day thread then

Thanks for the information. I figured that it had to be from Moore’s offense as Martz has no connection to E/P. I’ll still take Hardegree over any of them.

You wouldn’t have to worry about me, I’m pretty much never in a game day thread, and I don’t believe in pounding on an agenda endlessly. So if they hired one those I hate then I’ll make that clear and then leave it be, until they fire them. I would however have a tough time watching one of them destroy Mac Jones, and the Patriots with him. If it happens then It’s a good thing I spend so much time playing golf, it will make the pain of seeing the Patriots go down the toilet much easier to take.

I think Kraft will try really hard to keep Josh in place for Mac.
Especially if we make a playoff run.

If Josh left he'd have a very good QB prospect to work with.

Including the NEP game, David Mills since.

As a rookie QB on a crap team with crap offensive talent, you couldn't have asked for a better season out of him.

I don’t think Caserio will fire Culley unless he knows he will get MacDaniels. I.e..MacDaniels is gone if Culley gets fired.

It feels like the problem, from my seat anyway, is Elway. I'd like to read what you think, being a little bit closer to the situation.

Maybe, I have no idea. All things considered I thought Culley did a good job.
