I'm not sure he's the best DT in the game either but great signing. How ironic that a thread on the main form was started on Vea criticizing the bucs when Bill literally made Wilfork the highest paid DT in the game. LOL
The sensitivity to what the bucs are doing is really off the charts. God forbid Brady gets to keep the best DT in the game.
Didn't BB let Welker check the market and then replace him while he was looking around? I forget exactly how it all came down. No matter what though it was pretty clear that Welker wasn't a favorite of BB's.I hated when Welker left. He got less money in his 2 years in Denver than his last 2 years with the Pats. So why did he leave? Did BB not even try to make a competitive offer?
Welker wasn't a good fit in Denver. Manning couldn't use slot receivers like Brady. For one, he didn't have nearly the same velocity especially on short throws up the middle.
Welker's stats went down big time and the concussion he suffered shortened his career and reduced his production.
He was so close to being a HOF. He would have had it if he had stayed.
And JE11 although may not be as good as welker was the ultimate clutch and tough player. He was one of the best players of dynasty 2.0 so I think BB knew what he was doing or he got lucky but either way he made the right decision.Didn't BB let Welker check the market and then replace him while he was looking around? Wilfork was once the highest paid DT in the game? I didn't realize that. That doesn't sound like Bill. How ironic that a thread on the main form was started on Vea criticizing the bucs when Bill literally made Wilfork the highest paid DT in the game. LOL

JE ended up being better than Welker IMHO. He had a knack for finding and getting to the open spaces, even when he appeared to be locked in he could squirrel his way through. And there was no tougher player than JE. It was the right choice for sure. And JE11 although may not be as good as welker was the ultimate clutch and tough player. I don't know why there's a rift between Pats fans but it's a feeding frenzy for the trolls.
