OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

IMO Brady has moved on. Of all people, AB's theatrics in the middle of a game, must've rubbed Brady the wrong way. He's really good at staying focused and keeping outside noise out. After all, he came back from a 14 pt. deficit after AB's stunt. His whole focus will be on getting Perriman, Johnson, Grayson and Bell reps to get them up to speed on what he likes to do. If the Bucs go down, it'll probably be because of their suspect defense.
I agree, he has always done a great job of staying focused and muting all outside noise.

At the time I felt Tom - who is as media savvy as any athlete - was not his usual self with the press, saying far more than I expected him to say. It felt at that moment a better tact would have been a brief, typical 'I don't know the facts, so I can't comment', or a similar 'I don't know, I didn't see', statement rather than to say as much as he did. It just seemed to be a bit out of character to me.

He's not with the Patriots anymore. Tampa does not have him under a muzzle. It is one of the many reasons he is enjoying his time in Tampa so much.

There has always been and continues to be some weird undercurrent in this thread that Brady must secretly hate Arians and not respect him. Probably to feel better about Belichick fuc.king up their relationship so bad? But it’s pretty transparent and stupid as hell because there’s nothing to support it.

Anyway Brady is gonna have a new OC next year because of Leftwhich getting the Jags job or something.

Anyway I guarantee, based off words from Brady’s own mouth on his weekly podcast, that is he FAR FAR more mad at the Saints for the things they did to his offensive teammates which now has made his job more difficult than any supposed tension with Arians.

Yeah. I get that sense too and do think it is due to Bill screwing things up so bad and letting the GOAT walk. I never hear or see anything from Brady that would indicate he has any issue with BA. I mean why would he? Look at the depth the Bucs have at WR with Grayson, Perriman and Johnson. I think Brady goes to bed every night thanking his stars that he is not throwing to Harry and Gunner anymore. LOL

Lmao Bertrand on 98.5 is such a pro Pats (obviously fine) anti Brady (wtf) honk just saying on the air that things are crumbling down in Tampa Bay and wondering how their season ending there is gonna factor into the argument of who is doing better post divorce. And saying next year might be a disaster.

Bucs are gonna go 13-4 and have a respectable shot at the 2 seed. Like...what?

Zo, who still loves Brady obviously, had to openly scoff at that. But it’s clear that a lot of Pats fans are now openly hoping Brady slips up now, even if last year they were ok with him winning. Because if it’s just one good year away from Belichick they can say it’s a fluke. But twice? Lot harder.

I think Brady's respect for authority won't allow him to disagree with his HC, even at age 44. That's what made him so perfect for Bill's authoritarian style.

Even with a less than perfect playoffs Brady's Tampa legacy is still solid, and to be totally honest, pretty amazing.

Every Pats fan should still be riding high after 20 years of near perfection. If some are still unhappy with Brady then so be it. I'm still unhappy with Bill for letting him go.

After seeing AB play two seasons for about $4M total, at pro bowl level, scoring a TD in the Super Bowl, and clearly being a necessity much of the time due to injuries, this is the classic small **** energy of (some, not all) Patriots fans trying desperately to spin this, like they were right all along about everything.

How ironic, Pats media/fans wishing for things to fall apart in Tampa when Brady dealt with Bledsoe potentially coming back to take his job, Spygate, Moss being traded mid-season, Deflategate, a torn thumb in the AFCCG and literally zero receivers in 2019. LOL Not sure AB acting like a clown after not playing the majority of the season even registers on the blip radar for Brady. I mean while AB was dancing off into the sunset, Brady literally led a 14 point comeback throwing to ABs replacement - Grayson.

Humans are 90% emotion and the media is 100% garbage. If those personalities had anything worth talking about maybe they would but in order to keep their jobs they must spew nonsense so that's what they do.

Guess AB was mad that Tom wasn't targeting him like he was targeting Gronk and that's what lead to his blowup.

It could be the ultimate blessing that he is gone and that it happened before the postseason began.

Thats what Skip claimed yesterday. Is there more about that?
McAfee confirmed it I think. He is close friends to a lot of people in the Buccaneers and his source is AQ Shipley. Makes sense too since AB unfollowed Tom on social media. So you all still want AB back???? He literally quit on the team and a ungrateful POS if this is true. Tom saved his career

Some Bucs fan perspectives

So much for the team meltdown that Bertrand was hoping for. LOL
But you know what is interesting watching that video? Literally no one goes over to Brown other than Mike. No coach, no other player. In other words no one cared what that goof was doing as the team was in the middle of a drive down 14 points. To me that shows that this team has all the heart you need to compete in the postseason. If they lose it'll be simply because they got beat by a better team not because of drama wished for by bitter Patriots media and some fans.

I guess that means more targets to Gronk and Evans.

Gronk moved up from 67 to 63 with his 115 yards. Evans moved up 1 spot to 61.
AB moved up 1 spot to 24. He'll find another team next year even though talking heads say he is out. I know this cause of Josh Gordon.

Sanders and Kelce are in the mix.

I'd like to see some 3 TE formations with Evans and Fournette as the other 2 skill players

If it’s about # of targets, then yeah, get him out of there. There’s no way he can ever come back from that. If it’s about a beef with management/injuries, it’s another story.

The team might want to think twice about a TDs/yards incentive based contract for a guy known as the league’s biggest diva, being expected to get less targets for the greater good. It seems that playing time/snaps would be more logical. Not taking AB’s side here. It’s hindsight but it’s still a valid point.
