OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

About that touchdown in overtime:

I know Gronk was out there but he was going down the left seam from what I could tell. I can't believe on third and 3 that he was third option over Perriman who was crossing. To me it looked like Brady looked at Godwin first who was being mugged, then Evans who was blanketed and then right at Perriman. I suppose it is possible that he glanced at Gronk and saw him covered down the field but I have to believe the design of the play was to get one of the crossers open which ironically didn't happen, but Brady threw such a perfect pass that not only did it convert the first down but went for the TD. Honestly, I can't stop watching it - it was so beautifully executed.

Correct me if I'm wrong the pass was tipped wasn't it?

Yes, slightly which is why it wobbled coming into Perriman. Was not tipped enough to throw off the trajectory. Great concentration by Perriman.

I wonder if the 5th read thing is just about concept and that when they line up Brady eliminates some routes pre snap and assigns protections. Maybe Lenny was the dump off in the play conceptually but he had to stay in protection.

This is the only way back to normal for the NFL.

Only if they ditch the attempts to distinguish the vaxxed from the unvaxxed, which doesn't seem to be likely anytime soon.

Sean Peyton had Covid and is vaxxed so I would bet my house that he had absolutely no idea he has Covid again and is absolutely losing his mind right now.

I agree. What I would like to know is what is the breakdown of all these positive cases between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated?

I think this is a really important question if they going to ask these players to get the booster. If for whatever reason the vaccinated are more susceptible to the new variant then this is a complete disaster. And the league has to really reconsider it's push for the booster as it could potentially cause more issues with the variant.

Both the Cleveland coach and Payton had Covid last year and both are fully vaccinated. To me that is very concerning if the league thinks it can get a handle on this by adding another shot or even increased protocols.

In other words there could be something much bigger at play here that we haven't even figured out yet.

Sean Payton is the biggest possible loss for the Saints against the Bucs. He absolutely owns that team.

Get well soon, coach. He’s one of my favorites.

Bowles just had a sigh of relief

Aaron said he's made a decision on Brown and Edwards but he won't announce it till Monday because he doesn't want it to be a distraction for the game. Both players were seen working out at the facility alone. Florio thinks the bucs may put Brown on ice for the rest of the year so he won't earn his incentives. To me that seems kind of dumb as they need him in shape for the postseason.
