OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I would take that deal in a second if I'm the players but again, does that even make sense? Does the booster even reduce transmission of this new variant at all? If so then that's a good deal but if not it's just another hollow PR deal. Not saying don't take it but it just seems like alot of protocols are hollow PR stunts.

It very likely reduces transmission but more importantly it cuts severe illness down to about nothing.

I support vax mandates in basically all walks of life and have for a long time and THIS is basically the reason why. We’ve reached the point with Covid where if you take the damn vaccines you get a cold if you’re symptomatic at all and this is the “living with covid” stage that we envisioned 20 months ago. Cases matter less than illness level.

Wish it was just as simple as getting the vaccine and then we can then live our life freely. Over here, almost everyone is vaccinated and boosters are being made available to everyone, yet many wants to keep restrictions and make it even tighter. I wouldn't be surprised if restrictions become permanent in some form.

Anyways, Chargers are blowing their chance at making it a blowout game. Should have taken the field goal when they were at the 5 yard line. When they were at the 1, they should have run it in or taken the field goal.

What country do you live in?

Cda. Restrictions have been increasing. My kids travel volleyball and basketball was canceled this week. It seems like many schools are only going to be online in January. I've already looked to moving to the States but my wife doesn't want to move. I'll give it 1 to 2 more years.

Going to OT. Both Chiefs and Chargers gave up field goals during the game that would have won it.

Legit don’t know a single country that’s doing remote k-12 anymore unless it’s private schools doing their own thing.

The issue though as it pertains to the NFL is cases matter because players can't play even if the symptoms are mild or they have no symptoms.

To force these players to get the booster when it doesn't prevent infection is the problem. I doubt any of the players follow the new protocols because they were told back in the spring that they didn't have to if they got the shot. That's the issue for the NFL right now.

They are still stupidly deciding to stigmatize those who haven't gotten the jab.
Except Saint Aaron of course. He didn't get vaccinated, said that he was and is being treated like a God.

Right, so moving on.

Here's why Godwin is getting so many targets:
120 targets 92 catches for a ridiculously high catch rate of 77%.
He's 70% for his career.

If Godwin wants to break the bank if signed long term, Bucs can't afford him. But they can franchise him a 2nd time for about 20 mil.

Evans on the other hand had an atrocious catch rate of 55% for an elite receiver before Brady came at 835 targets and 462 catches.

Since then he's done alot better with a 64% catch rate with 208 targets and 133 catches. It's a good catch rate for a WR that gets so many medium to deep throws. There is still more upside as I think the chemistry is still improving.

I'm not an Evans fan overall but he's not targeted with the same kind of throws as Godwin. 64% is still really low though or is it? What are the top guys in the league at? Adams or Hopkins?

Godwin is playing better and is in sync with Brady much better than last season. Really upped his market value. I was concerned about a brief period where he had a spate of drops last regular season but that went away before the playoffs.
Unfortunately, AB has shown once again that he simply cannot be relied upon to be on the roster when needed. Too bad as I love watching him play with TFB.

64% is pretty good for his depth of targets. Here are some career comparables:

Adams 65.5% on only 12.2 Y/R
Brown 66% on 13.3 YR
Hopkins 62% on surprisingly low 13.4 YR
B Cooks 66% on 13.9 YR
Aj Green 58% on 14.6 YR
Gronkowski 65% on 14.9 YR
Evans 57% on 15.4 YR

So Evans has the lowest career catch rate but highest average yard per reception. It will keep on improving with Brady as it already improved from55%. He really needs Brady to keep on playing at an elite level for at least 2 more years to have a good chance to HOF.

Gronkowski I think had his lowest catch rate last year at 57%. He was a tad slow which resulted in lots of close misses.

He looks faster this year and it's reflected in his catch rate of 68%. Although he seemed a faster at the beginning of the season before his injury.

He looks pretty solid but not prime Gronk. He has missed quite a few big throws in traffic but then again they all do. He's still one of the best TEs in the league with his blocking and big time play abilities.

Good news. RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) was at practice. Bucs S Antoine Winfield Jr.and CB Jamel Dean worked with trainers kn the side. S Jordan Whitehead, who has been limited, also was practicing. Bradley Pinion has a hip injury but continues to be at practice.

About that touchdown in overtime:

Some of you have pointed out that if Fournette is staying back in pass protection, Perriman can’t be the fifth option. I’d think Leftwich just meant he’s the last option and had the number wrong.
